ONE MILLION TREES...
These trees, native of the area, will be planted
around the local communities
located near these four lakes.
The Circuit of Four Lakes is a beautiful natural areain the Peruvian Andes.
The vision of Yachay Wasi is to preserve this beauty and diversity of flora and fauna.
In December 2008, 6000 saplings were
bought from a nursery in Cuzco
and taken by truck to Andean village of
Acopia
The native trees
are paid for by donations from
the public at $1.00 per sapling
25 saplings are given to each family
In January 2009, during
the rainy season,
native trees are
planted....
