BOATHOUSE GUIDELINES• Life vests are required for all patrons using the boats.• If a child is under the weight requirement of our smallest life vest (30 lbs.), the child will not be allowed in the boat.• No private boats or floating devices allowed in the lake.• No swimming or wading allowed.• No food or drink allowed in the boats.• Dogs are not allowed on the boats (service dogs excluded).• No one will be allowed to use a boat if they are suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or other substances.

CAROUSEL GUIDELINES• All riders must be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone.• Supervising adults must stand next to the carousel animal and hold onto their child.• One rider per animal.• No food, drinks, gum, balloons or smoking on the carousel. • No bare feet or wet clothing allowed on carousel.• Maximum weight for riding animals is 250 lbs.

SPRAYGROUND HOURS OF OPERATIONOpens for the Season: Saturday, May 18 The sprayground will be on a timer for sporadic daily operation from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. weather permitting.

SPRAYGROUND GUIDELINES• The water is chemically treated; please don’t drink the water. • Bicycles, skateboards and other wheeled devices are not permitted on the spray pad.• No animals allowed on or near the spray pad.• Children who are not toilet-trained must wear plastic pants or a swim diaper and must be checked or changed often. Changing tables are located in the boathouse restrooms.• In the event of severe weather, do not use the spray pad and seek shelter.

PAVILION RENTALSThe two larger pavilions in Carpenter Park are available to rent for private events. Visit webtrac.cityofthornton.net to reserve a pavilion for your event.*

AMPHITHEATER/PARTY ROOM RENTALSThe amphitheater and party room can only be reserved by calling 303-255-7800.

NATIONAL CANINE FRISBEE COMPETITION Hosted by the Colorado Disc Dogs, www.coloradodiscdogs.com. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and the competition begins at 9 a.m.

LOW-COST PET VACCINATIONS 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. $10 for a rabies vaccine and $10 for the distemper vaccination. Staff from the Huron Animal Hospital are donating their time for this event.

CREATURE FEATURES These animal attractions could be furry, feathered or slimy — but they’re sure to be fun! The exhibitor will be on-hand to answer questions.

NEW! Ninja Warrior Course Come meet American Ninja Warrior legend, Brian Arnold and challenge yourself to our dual lane, 120 ft. Ninja courses featuring the famous warped wall.

Brian is from Brighton, CO and has competed in six seasons of American Ninja Warrior and was the top athlete in Season 5 beating the nations best in completing stage three at the Las Vegas Finals.

Cost is $5 for one attempt at our course or $30 for unlimited attempts throughout the festival day. Individual times will be tracked throughout the day and prizes will be awarded to the fastest male and female times!

South/Southwest Thornton Shuttle Service9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.Complimentary shuttle buses will be provided to ease transportation needs to and from the southern and southwestern areas of Thornton to Thorntonfest. Shuttles will arrive at each location every 25-30 minutes, beginning with the 9:30 a.m. pickup at STEM Launch. The first shuttle will pick-up at the STEM Launch parking lot at 9:30 a.m. and the last returning shuttle will depart the festival site at 5:30 p.m. The pick-up spot at each location will be marked with a blue/white “City of Thornton” banner.

EVENT PARKING INFORMATION:RV PARKING will be available beginning at 8 a.m. on July 4. Designated RV parking area is on the south side of the event site and can be accessed via 108th Avenue, off of Colorado Boulevard. Follow the signs.

GENERAL PARKING OFF OF 108TH AVENUE: Majority of the available parking is on the south side of the site; both paved lots and the overflow area are accessed via 108th Avenue, west of Colorado Boulevard.

ADA PARKING: The eastern-most paved parking lot directly south of the event field is reserved for ADA

parking and is accessed via 108th Avenue, west of Colorado Boulevard.

CARPENTER RECREATION CENTER PARKING LOT: Open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on July 4. After the facility closes, the lot will be available for event parking.

112TH AVENUE AND MADISON STREET LOTS: Use the entrance at 110th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard to access the two paved parking lots in the Carpenter Park.

SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS: If parking in the surrounding neighborhoods please be courteous of the homeowners and do not block driveways or park in fire lanes.

WALKERS & CYCLISTS: There is a pedestrian underpass under Colorado Boulevard that allows pedestrians to enter the event safely. Bicycle racks will be available near the north pedestrian bridge. Don’t forget to bring your own bike lock.

Once the parking lots are full, Colorado Boulevard will be closed from 104th Avenue to 112th Avenue. When the fireworks show starts, Colorado Boulevard will be closed between 104th Avenue and 120th Avenue.

EXITING THE EVENT:COLORADO BOULEVARD 104TH-120TH AVENUE: Closed except for vehicles exiting the event. No exiting vehicular traffic on Colorado Boulevard, between 108th Avenue and 112th Avenue. RV PARKING LOT: Exit 108th Avenue to Colorado Boulevard and sent south to 104th Avenue. GENERAL PARKING OFF OF 108TH: Cars in paved lots will be sent east on 108th Avenue to Riverdale Road. Cars in dirt overflow lots will be sent south on Colorado Boulevard to 104th Avenue. CARPENTER RECREATION CENTER PARKING LOT: Sent north along the park road to exit 112th Avenue and Madison Street where you will be sent east to Colorado Boulevard and north on Colorado Boulevard.CARPENTER PARK PARKING LOTS OFF OF 112TH: Sent out to 112th Avenue and Madison Street where you will be sent either west toward York Street or east to Colorado Boulevard and north on Colorado Boulevard. WALKERS & CYCLISTS: Walk and/or ride across Colorado Boulevard between 108th Avenue and 112th Avenue as all vehicle traffic will be diverted other directions until approximately 11 p.m.
