Growing Scholars Educational Center's after school program istaking on a STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering Arts/Agriculture, Mathematics) approach to learning. Studies showthat informal learning settings, such as after school programs,provide various opportunities for children to get excited aboutSTEAM activities. Our program will provide students theopportunity to experience a hands-on, inquiry based learningstyle where they are able to experiment with science andtechnology with the supervision of a supportive adult. Beginner through black belt karate program designed to teachstudents all aspects of traditional karate: basic techniques,stances, kata/forms, self-defense, mat work, and sparring. A greatfamily activity to gain self-confidence, self-esteem, self-respect,self-defense, and self-discipline. All while getting in shape andlearning to defend one-self.
