Hialeah is recycling better with new, simple rules for what goes in the green cart and what does not. By following the new rules you’ll be doing your part to help our city and our environment. When recyclable materials are wet, dirty or mixed with non-recyclable materials, the entire cart can be contaminated and sent to the landfill.

Hialeah recicla mejor con reglas nuevas y simples para lo que se incluye en el carrito verde y lo que no. Al seguir las nuevas reglas, estará haciendo su parte para ayudar a nuestra ciudad y nuestro medio ambiente. Cuando los materiales reciclables están mojados, sucios o mezclados con materiales no reciclables, todo el carrito puede contaminarse y enviarse al vertedero.

You can reduce contamination and help to keep items out of landfills by following these steps:

➠ Never bag your recyclable items.

➠ Empty all food and liquid before putting items in your bin.

➠ When in doubt, throw it out! If you are not sure if an item is recyclable, put it in the garbage (brown cart).

➠ Nunca embolse sus artículos reciclables.

➠ Vacíe todos los alimentos y líquidos antes de poner los artículos en su contenedor.
