Principal’s Report: Book Week Parade:
This morning’s Book Week
Parade was a highlight of the
year. It was wonderful to see
so many children dressed up as
their favourite book character.
Well done kids!
I was thrilled to see so many
parents and visitors at this
mornings’ parade. Our
students really appreciated you
being here.
Parent Helpers:
Parent and grandparent helpers
are urgently required in all
areas of the school.
Parents with spare time in the
morning or afternoon are
asked to contact the office.
Class teachers would love to
have volunteers listen to
children read and even help
out in small groups.
Mr Beer’s Reading
Challenge:
Mr Beer’s Reading
Challenge is now on.
All infant students must read
10 books (not counting their
take home readers). Parents
can share books with their
infant children or read the book
to them.
Students in grades 3-6 must
read 15 books this month
(which includes some F.A.B.
books). This can include a
combination of junior fiction,
picture story books and novels.
Parents do need to sign off on
their children’s reading.
It would be fantastic to have
100% of our students
participating in and succeeding
in our challenge this year.
Prep Enrolment:
Red Cliffs Primary School is
now accepting 2016 Prep
enrolments.
Parents of children eligible to
be enrolled in 2016 are asked
to contact me and obtain
enrolment forms.
Children must turn 5 years of
age on or before April 30th in
2016 to be enrolled.
I ask all parents to tell friends
and neighbours that Red Cliffs
Primary is now accepting
enrolments for next year.
Maths Quiz Wiz:
Congratulations to this week’s
Maths Quiz Wiz - Emma
Giannelli - grade 4. Well done
Emma!
Footy Fever Day:
Next Friday, September 4th, is
“Footy Fever Day”. All children (and staff) are asked
to come to school in their
favourite footy colours.
We will have our footy-teams
parade at 9.00 am.
The infant students will enjoy
their Footy Fever Day activities
from 9.30 - 10.30am.
Students in grades 3 - 6 will have
their Footy Fever activities from
11.45 - 1.45pm
We would love to have parent
helpers come along and share
their footy skills with our
students.
Parents able to assist with either
the junior or senior sessions are
asked to contact their child’s
teacher.
Parent’s Club will be selling Hot
Dogs for lunch—more
information next week.

SHELL QUESTACON 2015
SCIENCE SHOW
To the parents and students of Red Cliffs Primary School,
This Friday, 28th August, is PRINCIPAL’S DAY.
It is an opportunity to recognise the valuable leadership provided at our school and a
chance to thank Mr Beer and his staff for all they do for us and our school. I am sure
Mr Beer’s job is made easier by the fantastic support he has from all of his staff and the
students themselves. So, to Mr Rod Beer - THANK YOU for everything you do.
Please parents take the opportunity today to thank Mr Beer (and all staff) for the
fantastic work they do for our “kids” and OUR school.
Now a bit of a profile on our principal; Mr Beer has been principal of our school for 11
years. He was also formerly the principal at Merbein West and Koorlong PS. He has
taught at Cardross PS and Geelong Grammar and was a district reliever teacher.
Overall, Mr Beer has taught at more that 150 schools in a distinguished career that spans
36 years!
Mr Beer enjoys helping children and working with parents and staff - something I am
sure you will agree, he excels at.
Mr Beer is married to another school teacher her name is Mrs Beer (of course).
Her real name is Maria and they have two beautiful daughters, Maddie and Amelia.
Mr Beer’s hobbies include golf, walking, bike riding and umpiring football. He does
love his holidays too and his Sydney Swans. Something that links his hobbies with his
work is the BEER CUP which I am sure you are familiar with.
Once again Mr Beer we say a heartfelt THANK YOU.
