Sarah Noble was a young girl who traveled through the wilderness with her father. They were trying to find a new place to live. Sarah must be brave as she goes to new places and meets new people. She also misses her family who are back at home.

John noble: He is Sarah's father and he loves her and hunts and looks for a place for them to live.

Sarah’s mom: Sarah’s mom is at home and lives with Sarah’s brother and sister.

The story takes place in 1707 in the wilderness.
