A Christmas message from Mrs Ansell

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your kind generosity in supporting

the school to raise funds for two local charities. We recently sent you a letter asking for

you to consider a donation rather than a Christmas gift for staff and from this you were

kind enough to donate £175.

The charities that the school council have chosen are;

‘We Mind – Kelly Matters’, a local charity supporting Mind. In the last year they have

raised £20000 to support a mental health worker to work in schools, your donations will

support their work.

Kettering General Hospital Children’s Ward, we spoke to the hospital and they requested

support for the baby unit with clothes and toys. We have also had donations from a

knitting group of premature baby hats, mittens and booties and quilts which will all be

taken to the hospital on behalf of the school as well as a cheque to support their work.

We have had a very busy term with fantastic Christmas productions from EYFS and Year 1.

These were enjoyed by an overwhelming amount of family and friends.

At the end of each show we collected further donations and now our grand total is

£602.75.

Thank you to you all. Merry Christmas from all of the staff and governors at Redwell

Primary School.

Years 1—6 watched Cinderella at the Lighthouse Theatre. It was a loud and a dazzling

performance and everybody loved it. Our favourite part was when the flying horse

appeared to carry the coach with Cinderella in it, the children were amazed as it flew into

the nights sky. We also liked it when Mr Pell and Mr Anderson were picked on by the ugly

sisters and they even received a kiss! All of the actors were very professional and they

made us laugh. We would also like to thank the staff at the Lighthouse Theatre as they

were very helpful and friendly. We would thoroughly recommend you watch this

performance, you will have a great time.
