Accountancy & Finance
The Czech economy is in good shape and GDP forecasts show steady, conservative growth. The overall outlook, combined with the growth of shared services centres (SSCs), has proven to be a reliable predictor
of an increasing demand for financial professionals in particular.
At REED we’ve witnessed a need for finance candidates at all levels, especially in the accounting and credit control field. Unemployment is low and competition in the market is very strong. Clients are now attracting finance talent directly from prestigious universities thanks to

Forecasted low unemployment rate does not create a challenge only for the hiring professionals, but also highlights the scarcity of available experienced HR professionals. At REED we have recorded a decline in the demand for Compensation & Benefits or Learning & Development
specialists. On the other hand, we see an increased demand for internal recruiters, especially in the Services industry. HR Generalists from an entry level up to HR Manager/Business Partners are still very
much in demand too.

Multilingual Shared Services
Within the multilingual shared services (MSS) sector, there is a gap for strong leaders as well as middle and senior finance and accountancy
professionals. Employers are now open to hiring ‘boomerang candidates’ who left their businesses to gain experience from another company
and are now looking to return in a more senior position.
We have also observed a trend in SSCs moving away from their basic transactional services – they are now being outsourced to outside Europe.
SSCs can now focus on internal clients by handling more complex corporate accountancy and finance activities. Payroll and VAT specialists
are still highly sought-after, especially those with experience on an EMEA or global scope. In a multilingual landscape, advanced English is a standard for most international companies. However English in combination with other European languages is becoming a must for many positions. The most sought-after language continues to be German, which is in high demand in all sectors of customer service. Employers also typically look for Western and South European languages, as well as Dutch and Nordic languages. There is also a demand for Japanese and Korean speakers
in Moravian region.

Technology
The last few years has seen the continuing trend of new IT hubs arriving into the Czech Republic. As such, there is a high demand for both front-end and back-end development, networking, databases, quality assurance, and in particular, business intelligence professionals. The start-up scene is growing fast, putting pressure on larger firms who continue working hard on their retention programmes. The most in-demand specialists remain those with software development profiles,
including programming languages such as JAVA, C# and C++.
There is ever more automation in software testing and IT infrastructure support and employers are willing to pay a premium for candidates
with relevant skills and experience.
