As his supervisor, it is with pleasure that I recommend Maury Rubin for a position with your
organization. Through the support of a Summer Experience Program grant, Maury was my
student this summer.
The OSGA 55+ (Ontario Senior Games Association) is a multi-sport organization that provides
older adults (55+) in Ontario with an opportunity to increase their social interaction with others,
increase their physical and mental well-being, and maintain and enhance their psychological and
physiological well-being through participation in recreational activities and sports.
As Event Coordinator, Maury was responsible for implementing a key aspect of our business plan
– two Open/Invitational events to increase opportunities for the 55+ demographic in Ontario.
Maury took the lead on all event management aspects of the inaugural OSGA 55+ Open Squash
Tournament that was held August 19-20, 2014 and also laid the foundation for an inaugural OSGA
55+ Open Card Games event to be held in October 2014. Due to the nature of the position, it
required Maury to have exceptional organizational, time management and people skills to ensure
all tasks were completed on time. In addition, his ability to take direction well, work
independently and work well with others throughout the process also led to his success in this
position. Maury was a pleasure to supervise as he always handled himself professionally, asked
questions and brought a bright disposition to the office each day.
Again, I would highly recommend Maury for a position with your organization.
