VITA
The author was born on 4th November, 1942 at
Etawah (U,P.) in a respectable Brahmin family. He
passed the High School Examination in 1960 from Board
of Secondary Education, Allahabad and B.Sc. (Ag.) from
Agra University, Agra. He got admitted to M.Sc. (Ag.)
in Entomology at College of Agriculture, Raipur
Affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa
Vidyalaya, Jabalpur. He completed his post graduation
in 1967 with an O.C.G.A. of 3.61 out of 4.00. He has
been arocmg the best sportsmen at the College level.
After doing post graduation, he joined in the
department of Agriculture, Govt. of M.P. as senior
Agriculture Extension Officer at Durg in 1967. In
1971, he joined the JNKVV, Jabalpll' services as sinior
REsearch Assistant at Raipll'. He was promoted to
Assistant Professor in 1977 and Associated Professor
in 1985.
He has varied experience of Research, Teaching
and Extension Ln Rice. He has published more than
eleven research publications, several popular
articles, delivered several radio and Tv talks and has
guided rrore than 10 M.Sc. (Ag.) students. He has
delivered training lectures to farmers and Officials
of the Department of Agriculture from time to time.
The present piece of work is going to be very
helpful in developing an effective management system
of leaf and plant-hoppers which are among the serious
pests of rice in Chhattisgarh region of Madhya
Pradesh.
