REFLECTION

A. Five things I can remember from this module are:

i. Preparation in giving a proper presentation by using the useful language box. We

have to present in groups on the future of English.

ii. The function of future tense in a number of forms such as ‘will’, ‘going to’, ‘ If

first conditional and also future continuous.

iii. Some useful warmers/fillers to be used in class such as ‘Find someone who…’,

‘Fruit Salad’, ‘Which way the wind blows’, ‘back to back’ and many more. These

warmers are to enhance the students to speak in English.

iv. The correct pronunciation of some confusing sound of words. I learn how to

work with the weak or strong form words or phrases.

v. Holding a debate in class by using some useful language. I had the chance to

participate as one of the speakers in a debate team. With the title ‘ Traditional

classrooms are more effective learning environments than hi-tech classrooms, ‘ I

was able to present my opinions and oppose someone’s position by giving some

main points with supporting facts or examples.

B. Based on the activities that we did, I think I am going to use some of the warmers done

as well as the debate activities. The presentation activity is also a good one to encourage

students to speak and use the language well.

C. I plan to :

i. have more warmers or fillers as to encourage students to speak and won’t be

shy to speak English even if it’s wrong. It’s part of learning anyway.

ii. Conduct more group presentations based on the themes in the scheme of work.

iii. Conduct a debate once in a while.

D. To improve my English, I will:

i. Turn on the English radio station as I’m driving, so I can listen to the

pronunciation and vocabulary. Listen to the English songs. I can learn new

phrases too.

ii. Read more English materials such as newspapers or story books. Need to instill

reading habits. Hope it’s not too late for me.

iii. Speak the language whenever I can.

E. In five years time, I see myself progressing in the teaching field, would like to be

recognized as the best teacher, inspired my students and perhaps hopefully I’ll be the

great teacher whom will be missed by my students if I’m not around, cared about the

subject and students, inspire the students with interesting lessons.

F. I think all activities are useful to me. I won’t miss or leave any of them. I’ll try my best to

use them.
