    2.4 Reflection the performance

    Group:

Overall I think my group performed very well, the feedback was positive.Due to the group the whole performance went great, the use of facial expressions and body

language was well and really portrayed each individual character to the fullest. Advice and

teachings from the professional mime artist really helped when it came to expressing

emotions on stage, which really showed through our performance. Every individual actor

knew their cue and was on time.

As a group I dont think we organised our rehearsal time very well, as loads of members of

the cast did consistently have to go to the director to find out when rehearsals were taking

place. I also think the sound director could of done their job properly as in one of the other

groups scene a particular sound that they were expecting was not played and they had to

cut their scene short. I think the lighting director could have done their job better as well as

there was a moment where I was waiting for the lights to come on during my performance.

    Myself:

I think I carried out my duties as an actor very well, I attended rehearsals and was always

punctual and took part in the final performance. I carried out my duties as the promotion

manager by handling my promotion team making sure posters were made by the set

deadlines. I also made sure that all changes of the production like the date was also changedon the promoting materials like the poster.

I think I performed to the best of my ability as a choreographer and did what I could to

make the performance look better by combining my best movements in my choreography

to make an artistic whole for the finale of the show as well as considering the performances

    capability.

I think I did not hold enough dance rehearsals as some performers were not completely

correct on the timing of each dance move. Next time I should hold extra rehearsals that are

not confident with the set choreography so they can learn it precisely and perform better.

    Audience:

During the performance we didnt get a big response from the audience because we were

miming, so the audience were mostly quiet although when my character made a sad face

after being bullied, we slightly heard awww from the audience showing their sympathy. At

the end of our performance we got a big round of applause from them showing their

    appreciation.

An adult who was in the audience gave me the following feedback:

The show was of a standard much better than many high school performances I've ever

seen. Mime is a difficult art form and I think you and your group were brave to take it on

because audiences can read wrong messages without the spoken word. The performers

seemed to have had some amount of dance experience because they used their bodies well- I think facial expressions could have been exaggerated a bit more. Storylines were short

but funnily clever and witty at times. Costumes were practical. Lighting and sound had some

good intention but there was one moment we waited for about half a minute for the lights

to come up. Half a minute can seem a long time to an audience. Anyway, as an actor myself,

I think you all deserve congratulations because it is about learning from your mistakes. None

of you have been professionally trained and some of you are doing this for the first time so,

    hey -job well done!

    Health & safety:

We carried out health and safety practices such as tucking away sound and lighting wires

away so no one had an accident and seriously injured themselves. Next time I think we

should improve on our health and safety practices as the make-up artist did not test the

make-up on our skin before applying it onto our faces this could have been an issue as one

of the performers may have had an allergic reaction.

    Accounts:

A total of 7.50 was spent on extra costume parts and make-up. It was managed and raised

very well by the make-up artist by collecting a small sum of money from each performer.
