The journey begins in Rome, “The Eternal City.” Begin with a locally guided panoramic tour of Rome featuring the impressive Piazza Venezia, the Circus Maximus, the Arch of Constantine, the famous Piazza Navona, and a visit to the Colosseum. With free time to explore on your own, you could visit Vatican City, the Vatican Museums, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Ease your way into local culture as your tour manager teaches you a few key phrases of the native language. Take a guided walking tour of Assisi, birthplace of St. Francis. Behold one of the grandest squares in Italy, the Piazza IV Novembre, and delight in the medieval palaces and ornate cathedrals in Perugia.
