Who are the checks written out to? Our teachers are independent contractors, therefore, checks should be made payable to each individual teacher based on the course fee schedule. Teachers do NOT work for HEART, but for their students’ families. Registration checks are written directly to Bayside Community Church. Why is the first month tuition non-refundable? A minimum of one month’s tuition (NON-REFUNDABLE) are due at the time of registration, to hold your student’s place in each class. How often do I pay tuition? Payments may be made in full at the beginning of the year, by quarter, or monthly. When is tuition due if I pay monthly? Payments are due by the last Friday of each month, (except November) beginning in August, 2010, and ending in April, 2011. What kind of extra fees might I accrue? Late payments (after the first of the month) accrue a late charge of $10.00 per student, per class. Returned checks incur a charge of $30.00 each. Material fees or lab fees in each class. What if I want to drop a class? Students may drop classes only at the end of each quarter since each teacher has prepared materials and lesson plans based on enrollment. If your student drops a class, regardless of reason, you will need to give the teacher written notice, no later than 30 days before the end of the quarter, and pay tuition for that full quarter. Drop requirements are waived for notification of drops received before the school year commences in September, 2010. What type of discounts can I find at HEART? HEART Academy will give families $10 off the administrative fee if they turn the application in before July 1, 2010. Teacher assistants will get a price-break of up to 40% in the classes they assist through the end of the semester. Please speak directly with the teacher. Discounts on registration fees are available by trading work assignments at HEART Academy. Please email Crissi Allen at [email protected] if you are interested and we will try to work out something. Do you have scholarships available? Scholarships will be discussed on a case-by-case basis. We want to work with you so please email or call us.
