SchoolRetreats

We are very blessed to have a number ofschools par3cipa3ng in retreat programs.Wehad1238studentsserve4948hours in2015. These retreats have severalpurposes. Themost important is to teachabout homelessness and poverty here inourRegionaswellasteachingthestudentshow to serve. It also includes theprepara3on and serving of a lunch to ourguests. Chaplain Patrick Marcolla says,““Regenera3onBramptonisnotjustadrop-in centre for the poor, the homeless and

We areprivileged to be a part of the beau3ful family atRegenera3onBrampton.”

A number of students have commented about theirexperience. “Regenera3on taught me that helping the“less fortunate” is not just outside of Canada. It taughtme to really appreciate my life and what I have beenblessedwith. Regentaughtmethatanyonecanbeputina shaky situa3on and you shouldn’t judge a book by itscover.”

“I found it really amazing to work with Regen. Justwatching the way through which everyone interacted with one another was very eyeopening. They treatedoneanotherwith love, respect, dignityandmost importantly theytreatedeachotherlikefamilymembers.Overall,itwasagreatexperience.”

DentalandHealthClinic

We are very thankfu l for thepartnership that we had with HealthMissions Outreach, Kennedy RoadTabernacle and Brampton Chris3anSchool to host a dental and healthclinic in November. This was madepossible due in part to an onlinefundraising campaign in July with$10,000 matched by The BridgewayFounda3on.

Regenera3onwasabletohelpwiththeinstalla3on of infrastructure for thisclinic and future clinics. A number of

ourguestswereinvolvedinhelpingtosetupanddisassembletheclinic.Carol, our chef, catered the mealsfor the volunteers throughout theweekend.

The dental clinic was a success. Here is a brief report fromDr. LunHangfu from the Health MissionsOutreach:

“There were 453 charts filled out.About 400 came for varioustreatments. The total of volunteersfor the two clinic days, includingc l i n i c i a n s , w a s a b o u t 4 3 0

people.Thetotalnumberofproceduresincludingregistra3on,medicaltriage,bloodpressure,glucose test, dental triage, X-rays, consulta3on, dental extrac3on and/or cleaning and/orfillingsandchiroprac3ctreatmentswasabout2200+treatments.Overallfreetreatmentvalueis es3mated from $500,000 to $ 2million depending on evalua3on. Iusually use $500 as standard pertreatment.Thiswill result in$1.1million.”

We look forward to a con3nuedpartnership as we care for thedental needs of those in ourcommunity.
