Hello! My name is Regina Julian, and I serve as an Adjunct Instructor of Public Speaking here at Galveston College. I must state unequivocally that I am beyond thrilled to have been selected as a nominee for this honor! Yay!!! In fact, at this very moment, I feel compelled to proclaim my excitement with an emphatic, “Wooooooooohoooooooo!!!” I would also like to amend my message of elation by stating that the quote above has always resonated with me with great force! However, the often elusive “why” was immediately answered many years ago when I found my passion for teaching in the college classroom!!! I am often known for my enthusiastic friendliness, unyielding smile and strong East Texas accent as soon as I utter the word, "Hello!" I live my life and conduct my classroom with intensity, and I implore my students to do the same. I admire passion for all things in life, as well as, authenticity, a childlike sense of wonder, a willingness to laugh often, individuality, compassion and a genuine concern for the impact one makes on others. In sum, speak with conviction, laugh without hesitation, act with integrity and communicate openly. It is extremely important to note that confirmation of the impact of our efforts on others is truly one of the most precious forms of feedback we as educators can be granted, and I am eternally grateful for such an experience as this! My sincere hope each day is that my words and actions help my students to find their voice in this world and that they realize the power and magnitude of that awesome force! Once it's found, I encourage them to be bold, and use that vocal superpower to make a difference in something for which they harbor great passion and great conviction!!! Additionally, I often implore each of my students to address all tasks that lie ahead with suspended fear…to never let the comfort and illusion of infinite time obscure the necessity and power of the present moment! Fear so often erects a wall of resistance and regret and I use my academic discipline to allow students to face some of those glaring fears, including the infamous fear of Public Speaking. Don’t let that fear, whether it be blatant or it lies somewhere in the periphery, hold you back. In sum, I proclaim a stance that professes the use of this life to make a bold impact in all that you do and all that you say!!!

here at Galveston College. I must state unequivocally that I am beyond thrilled to have been

selected as a nominee for this honor! Yay!!! In fact, at this very moment, I feel compelled to

proclaim my excitement with an emphatic, Wooooooooohoooooooo!!! I would also

like to amend my message of elation by stating that the quote above has always resonated

with me with great force! However, the often elusive why was immediately answered

many years ago when I found my passion for teaching in the college classroom!!!

I am often known for my enthusiastic friendliness, unyielding smile and strong East Texas

accent as soon as I utter the word, "Hello!" I live my life and conduct my classroom with

intensity, and I implore my students to do the same. I admire passion for all things in life, as

well as, authenticity, a childlike sense of wonder, a willingness to laugh often, individuality,

compassion and a genuine concern for the impact one makes on others. In sum, speak with

conviction, laugh without hesitation, act with integrity and communicate openly.

It is extremely important to note that confirmation of the impact of our efforts on others is

truly one of the most precious forms of feedback we as educators can be granted, and I am

eternally grateful for such an experience as this! My sincere hope each day is that my words

and actions help my students to find their voice in this world and that they realize the power

and magnitude of that awesome force! Once it's found, I encourage them to be bold, and use

that vocal superpower to make a difference in something for which they harbor great passion

and great conviction!!! Additionally, I often implore each of my students to address all tasks

that lie ahead with suspended fearto never let the comfort and illusion of infinite time

obscure the necessity and power of the present moment! Fear so often erects a wall of

resistance and regret and I use my academic discipline to allow students to face some of those

glaring fears, including the infamous fear of Public Speaking. Dont let that fear, whether it

be blatant or it lies somewhere in the periphery, hold you back. In sum, I proclaim a stance

that professes the use of this life to make a bold impact in all that you do and all that you

    say!!!
