WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This year’s conference will feature gang members at various stages of the cycle: current members, members transitioning out of gangs, and members who have gotten out. The program will focus on better understanding gang reality and best practices for prevention and intervention that can be adopted in the community. Breakout sessions will include Understanding Gangs and Crime in Texas, Gangs in the Military, Juvenile Street Gangs, West Texas Border Violence, Mexican Drug Trafficking Organizations, gangs such as Barrio Azteca and Los Zetas, as well as the conflict between the Juarez and Sinaloa Cartels. All of these sessions will include lessons learned and practical steps for improving community relations, intelligence gathering, and building programs.
Cancellation Policy: Full refunds will be given to those who cancel in writing a minimum of ten working days prior to the training. A $35.00 administrative fee will be assessed for cancellations after the deadline. The Correctional Management Institute of Texas reserves the right to retain or collect fees in full for those who fail to cancel prior to the training or for those who fail to attend. Substitutions are permitted at anytime.
