OVERVIEW The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCaBA, BCBA, or BCBA-D. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of services. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. It is the responsibility of the RBT Supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence. The BACB certificant supervising the RBT is responsible for the work performed by the RBT on the cases they are overseeing. This training is accepted by the BACB and will fulfill the training requirement to become a RBT. It is updated to the RBT Task List 2.0. The program is comprised of interactive activities, video lectures, presentations, and quizzes.

The Medical Administrative Assistant’s role involves managing the daily operations of a medical or healthcare facility. This course introduces you to the overall business operations of a medical administrative assistant, and the responsibilities of the role. These include personnel management, vendor management, front administrative assistant, as well as billing and payment

management. You will also learn about medical records and the importance of computer skills for medical assistants.

OBJECTIVES

Students have 180 days to complete this program but must take at least 5 days. Applicants must be 18 years of age, possess a minimum of a high school diploma or national equivalent, and complete a background check. The primary objective of this program is to prepare students to pass the RBT Exam. Below are the steps:

• First, students will complete the 40-hour online training.

• The second step is completing the competency exam. This is also included in the program and can be accomplished remotely via video conference.

• The next step is securing a supervisor. 5% of RBTs' working hours need to be supervised. Typically the person who completed the competency exam will become the student's supervisor, or another BCBA or BCaBA in the company where the student works. Students must identify the supervisor as part of the application for the exam. The remote option included in this program will provide 14 days of supervision, but will require students to name a new supervisor following.

• Next, students complete the online RBT certification application, which is submitted with the certificate of completion received after completing the 40-hour training and competency exam. The BACB website explains this process.

• If the BACB accepts the application, the student will register to take the RBT exam at a Pearson center. A voucher for the exam is included in this program. Once the exam is passed the student can register as an RBT.

• The Medical Administrative Assistant Program introduces students to overall business operations of a medical assistant. Students will learn about personnel and front office management, as well as billing and payment management. In addition, students will learn about medical records and computerization of a medical assistant.

• This program prepares students for and includes a voucher for the Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) Exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
