Procedures (Spring-2012 Semester)

Friday ProgramAs you are already aware Spring 2012 Semester is commencing from February 3, 2012

until May 18, 2012. Here are some information and instructions for you to follow:

The full academic calendar is appended at the end for your quick reference.

Course Registration:

Students are expected to register their courses one week before the startof the semester.

Those students who are unable to do so for some reason are required toregister their courses during 1

stteaching week, which is starting from

February 3, without any penalty.

There will be AED 100/- penalty for late registrations starting from 2ndteaching week, i.e. February 10, 2012.

No course registrations will be allowed after 2nd teaching week, i.e.February 10, 2012.

The students who fail to register for courses will be marked asInactive.

Students on SZABIST visa must take a minimum of 3 courses.

Semester Freeze:

Those students who dont want to join Spring 2012 semester arerequired to fill up the Semester Freeze form and submit it to theProgram Coordinatorbefore the start of the semester.

A request for semester freeze may also be made within two weeks afterthe start of the semester, but a late request fee of AED 100 will becharged.

At the expiry of this period (during 3rd teaching week) students who donot freeze the semester, will have their status marked as Inactive.

Those students who are on SZABIST visa cannot freeze the semester.

Inactive Status:

ZabDesk account of Inactive students will be blocked and they willnot be able to get any academic / administration document fromSZABIST.

A fee of AED 500 will be charged in order to restore Active status.Course Withdrawal:

100% of the tuition fees is refundable if you apply for withdrawal in thefirst 2 weeks of the start of the semester

75% of the tuition fees is refundable if you apply for withdrawal beforethe 4

thweek.

50% of the tuition fees is refundable if you apply for withdrawalbetween 4

thand 8

thweek.

No amount will be refunded between 8th and 12th week.

No course withdrawal is allowed after 12th week.

First semester students can withdraw from a maximum of one (1) courseonly.

Semester Withdrawal:

50% of the tuition fees are refundable if you apply for withdrawalbefore the 4

th

week.

25% of the tuition fees are refundable if you apply for withdrawalbetween 4th and 8th week.

No amount will be refunded after 8th week.

No semester withdrawal is allowed after 12th week.
