Baduk 바둑 ES&MS/KS1-KS3 The board game Baduk is known to be very beneficial especially for children because it requires them to think thoroughly before they actually make up their minds as to where to put their stone on the Baduk board. In their real lives, they will most likely be prudent and think analytically. It will also help them to deal with any kind of stress. Being calm and careful is the key point to coping with problems. Nowadays, Baduk is getting more and more popular in the world. It is well known for its unique feature of being the only board game in which computers couldn’t surpass human’s ability yet. In this Baduk class, students are not only expected to learn how to play Baduk but also, most importantly, they will learn what it’s like to fully and deeply concentrate on a specific task. Mr. Kim is 4 dan certified by the Korean Baduk Association, and majoring in Baduk Studies at Myongji University. He is convinced that Baduk is more than just a game since learning it has various educational benefits, such as increasing the child’s intelligence, task concentration span, problem solving ability and delay of gratification, as a recent PhD research has shown (Kim, 2010). Enjoy Fitness 1 JK-Gr2/REC-Y3 Students are encouraged and motivated through activities aimed to improve their coordination and motor skills. By using manipulatives and equipment coupled with interactive games, the children learn not only physical skills, but also develop their social interaction abilities. The classroom caters to both individual and group training to broaden the range of skills that the students will acquire. These styles of teaching will be merged into the lessons to allow students of multiple learning styles to approach and engage in each session. During the extensive experience teaching physical education, Mr. Shinho Kim have developed an educational philosophy that connects a child’s early educational development with the importance of a strong physical education.
