INTRODUÇÃOO I Festival/Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Clássica de Amarante é um evento organizado pelo Centro Cultural de Amarante - Maria Amélia Laranjeira que decorrerá em dois momentos distintos. O primeiro momento ocorrerá nos dias 4, 5, 6, 7 e 8 de setembro e o segundo momento nos dias 18, 19 e 20 de setembro. Este evento destinado a toda a comunidade Amarantina e ao público em geral é também um evento destinado a todos os amantes da guitarra. Os objetivos do Festival são dar especial enfoque à formação dos alunos do ensino artístico especializado do Centro Cultural de Amarante para que possam desenvolver as suas capacidades, promover e incentivar o estudo da Guitarra, proporcionar a oportunidade de divulgação e reconhecimento do trabalho dos alunos, proporcionar o enriquecimento musical com guitarristas internacionais de alto gabarito e promover e perpetuar a arte da Guitarra Clássica.

The Amarante International Classical Guitar Festival and Competition is an event organized by Centro Cultural de Amarante- Maria Amélia Laranjeira and it will happen in two different moments. The first

th th th th thmoment will take place on the 4 , 5 , 6 , 7 and 8 September and the th th thsecond moment will take place on the 18 , 19 and 20 September.

This is an event to all the city community, to the general public and to all the guitar lovers.The Festival´s aims are to provide for the students of the artistic education a wide range of educational possibilities within the guitar world in order to develop their skills, to promote and encourage the Guitar study, to promote the opportunity of disclosure and recognition of the students work, to promote a musical enrichment by providing significant musical experiences brought by high quality internacional guitarists and to promote and perpetuate the Classical Guitar art.

REGULAMENTO DO CONCURSO/COMPETITION REGULATION

- O concurso será aberto ao público e decorrerá nos dias 4, 5, e 6 de setembrode 2015; The competition will be open to the public and will take place on the 4th, 5th and 6th September.

- O concurso encontra-se dividido em seis categorias – A, B, C, D, E e F; The competition is divided in six categories – A, B, C, D, E and F.

- Os concorrentes só poderão concorrer a uma categoria; The competitors can only apply to one category.

- Cada categoria deverá ter um número mínimo de inscrições para se poder realizar: 6 para as categorias A, B, C, D e E e 10 para as categorias F; Each category must have a minimal number of registrations in order tohappen: six to the categories A, B, C, D and E, and ten to the category F.

- No caso de alguma categoria não se realizar, por falta de alunos inscritos, os concorrentes serão avisados atempadamente e o seu dinheiro será restituído; If some category cannot occur, by lacking of registered students, the competitorswill be noticed timely and they will be refunded.

- Nas categorias A, B, C, e D será realizada uma prova única; In the categories A, B, C, and D it will happen a single round.

- Nas categorias E e F será realizada uma eliminatória e uma prova final; In the categories E and F it will happen a first round and a final.

- As categorias E e F não poderão repetir as obras apresentadas na fase daeliminatória; In the categories E and F, the guitarists cannot repeat any piece performed in thefirst round.

- Os vencedores das categorias E e F realizarão um concerto de abertura na segunda edição do “Festival Internacional de Guitarra Clássica de Amarante”, em 2016; The winners of the E and F categories will have to perform in the opening concert in the second edition of the “ Amarante International Classical GuitarFestival”, in 2016.

-A data limite de inscrição no concurso é 31 de julho de 2015; The registration deadline is until 31st July 2015.

- A decisão do júri é soberana e inapelável; The jury decision is final and without appeal.

-A idade dos concorrentes terá como referência o dia 3 de setembro;The age of competitiors to the competition will be as at 3rd September.

- Quando um participante é aluno de um dos elementos do júri, este não o poderá avaliar; The jury cannot evaluate a competitor if he/she is his/her student.

-Poderão ser atribuidas menções honrosas aos participantes;The competitors may be awarded with honourable mentions - Não haverá lugar à atribuição de prémios ex-aequo; There will be no evenly prizes.

- Em caso de desistência, o valor da inscrição não será reembolsado; In case of drop out the festival organisation will not refund the registration fee.

-A ordem da apresentação das obras será da escolha dos participantes;The competitors may choose the order of their works presentation.

- O repertório deverá ser interpretado de memória; The competitors must perform the repertoire by heart.

- Informações sobre o local, dia e hora das provas, serão enviadas por e-mail até ao dia 15 de agosto de 2015; The information about the place, day, time of the competition will be sent by email until the 15th July 2015.

- Todos os participantes terão direito a um diploma de participação; All competitors will have a certificate of participation.

- Eventuais perdas e/ou danos em objetos pessoais nos locais onde decorrem as atividades do Festival não serão da responsabilidade da organização; The festival organisation does not held accountability in case of damage, harm caused or suffered and/or material losses during the festival activities.

- A entrega dos prémios será no final do concurso das categorias E e F; The awards will be delivered by the end of the categories E and Fcompetition.

-Juntamente com a ficha de inscrição, cada participante terá que facultar uma fotocópia das obras a apresentar; The competitors must add alog with the registration form a copy of the piece(s)they will perform.

-Os participantes que prestarem falsas informações/declarações serão automáticamente desqualificados; Any competitor who is discovered to have given false information in the documentation provided will be automatically and immediately disqualified.

- Qualquer questão omissa no Regulamento fica sujeita a apreciação por parte da organização; Any matter missing in the regulation will be decided by the festival’s organisation.

REGULAMENTO DA MASTERCLASS/MASTERCLASS REGULATION:

- Os alunos devem inscrever-se através do preenchimento da ficha deinscrição e pagamento da respetiva propina; The students must register by filling in the registration form and they must pay the correspondent fee.

- Cada aluno terá direito a uma aula de 50 minutos;Each student may attend to a 50 minutes class.

-Todos os alunos receberão um certificado de participação:All students will receive a certificate of participation.

- Os alunos estão divididos em duas categorias: Executantes (com direito a uma aula individual de 50 minutos e assistência a todas as masterclasses) e Ouvintes (terão acesso às masterclasses a decorrer)The students will be divided in two categories: Players and Listeners.The players are entitled to a 50 minutes individual class and also toattend all Masterclasses. A listeners are entitled to attend aMasterclasses.

MARCIN DYLLA: Saudado pelo Washington Post como “estando entre os mais talentosos guitarristas do planeta” o guitarrista polaco Marcin Dylla é um fenómeno raro na história recente da guitarra clássica. Muitos críticos musicais e “amantes” de música confirmam que Marcin Dylla está na elite mundial de guitarristas clássicos. Ganhou este estatuto devido aos inúmeros prémios ganhos incluindo mais de 20 primeiros prémios entre 1996 e 2007 nos mais prestigiados concursos de música internacionais. O seu último êxito foi a medalha de ouro na competição internacional “Guitar Foundation of America International Competition 2007” em Los Angeles, considerado um dos mais prestigiados concursos de guitarra no

mundo, ao qual se seguiu uma tour por mais de 50 cidades nos Estados Unidos da América, México e Canadá na temporada de 2008/2009. Com recitais ao vivo, gravados para a editora Mel Bay Publications e a gravação de um CD para a editora Naxos que chegou ao top 10 dos álbuns mais vendidos da mesma editora, em Setembro de 2008. O seu DVD de recital ao vivo “Wawel Royal Castle at Dusk” foi nomeado para o prémio “Fryderyk” (semelhante aos Grammys Americanos) na categoria de melhor álbum a solo de guitarra clássica do ano.

Marcin Dylla nasceu em Chorzow em 1976. Teve as suas primeiras aulas de guitarra no Conservatório de Música Ruda Slaska no seu país de origem, Polónia.De 1995 a 2000 estudou na acedemia de música de Katowice com Adi Wanda Palacz. Depois completou os seus estudos com os professores Oscar Ghiglia, Sonja Prunnbauer e Carlo Marchione na Academia de música de Basileia, na Suiça,Friburgo na Alemanha e Masstricht, na Holanda, respetivamente. É atualmente professor na academia de música em Kraków e Katowice.

Bay Publications and CD recording for Naxos that reached the Naxos ‘Top 10 Bestselling Albums’ in September 2008. His live recital DVD “Vawel Royal Castle at Dusk” was nominated for 2010 Fryderyk Award (equal to American Grammy) in the category of Solo Classical Music Album of the Year.

Anton Baranov:

Como vencedor da competição “Guitar Foundation of America Competition” em 2013 e mais de 20 outros prestigiados concursos pelo mundo, o guitarrista russo Anton Baranov estabeleceu-se como um dos principais guitarritas da atualidade.

As suas performances num variado número de distintas salas de concerto como Carnegie Hall em Nova Iorque, Palau de Musica em Valência, Mariinsky Concert Hall em St. Petersburg e Hakuju Hall em Tokyo foram descritas pelos criticos musicais como “pura magia” (Cleveland Classical) e “consegue pintar bonitas imagens sonoras de rica profundidade e cor com a sua guitarra” (The Guitar). Conhecido pelas suas interpretações ousadas e programas

inovadores, o guitarrista e compositor mundialmente famoso Roland Dyens apelidou-o “um verdadeiro músico, um daqueles raros guitarristas que faz com que os seus ouvintes/espectadores se esqueçam do instrumento que tocam, conseguindo focá-los na expressividade da música e apenas nisso”.

As gravações de Baranov incluem um álbum para Naxos Classical e um CD para Contrastes Records. A editora Naxos lançou “Latin American Guitar Sonatas” em Maio de 2014. O seu álbum para a Contrastes Records consiste em música espanhola de guitarra e está no mercado desde Agosto de 2014. Anton Baranov nasceu em 1984 e começou a tocar guitarra aos 10 anos. Concluiu os seus estudos musicais na mais antiga e famosa escola de música Russa, a Saint-Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, onde leciona desde a sua formação em 2010. Baranov é também um artista patrocinado pela D’ Addario desde 2013 e toca com a guitarra Sakurai-Kohno.

Anton Baranov:

As winner of the 2013 Guitar Foundation of America Competition and more than 20 other prestigious contests around the globe, Russian guitarist Anton Baranov has established himself as one of the leading guitarists of today.

His performances in a number of distinguished halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Palau de Musica in Valencia, Mariinsky Concert Hall in St. Petersburg, and Hakuju Hall in Tokyo have been described by musical critics as “pure magic” (Cleveland Classical), and “manages to paint beautiful sound pictures of rich depth and colour with his guitar.” (The Guitar). Known for Baranov's daring interpretations and innovative programs,

world renown guitarist and composer Roland Dyens called him, “...a real musician, one of those rare guitarists who are able to have their attendees almost forget the instrument they play, managing to have them focus on the expressivity of the music and only this”.

Baranov's recordings include one album for Naxos Classical and a CD for Contrastes Records. Naxos released Latin American Guitar Sonatas in May 2014. His Contrastes Records album consists of Spanish guitar music and it's on the market since August 2014. Anton Baranov was born in 1984 and started playing guitar at the age of ten. He completed his musical education at the oldest and most famous Russian school of music, the Saint-Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, where he has had a teaching position since his graduation in 2010. Mr. Baranov has been a D' Addario artist since 2013 and plays a Sakurai - Kohno guitar.

Rafael Aguire:

Rafael Aguire, músico e guitarrista aclamado internacionalmente com um profundo conhecimento da música, uma deslumbrante virtuosidade e um repertório imensamente diversificado, realizou recitais em 22 países. Os treze primeiros prémios em competições internacionais (um recorde espanhol), entre os quais Pro Musicis (Nova Iorque) e Tárrega (em Benicàssim, Espanha) tornaram possível o início de uma extraordinária carreira tornando-o, hoje, um dos mais célebres guitarristas seguindo a tradição espanhola iniciada por Andres Segovia e Narciso Yepes. Os pontos altos das últimas temporadas incluem recitais nas principais salas de

concerto como Carnegie Hall, Vienna Konzerthaus, Tchaikovsky Hall Moscow, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, London´s St John Smith Square, Gasteig Munich, Hamburg Laeiszhalle, Palau de la Musica Valencia e Tonhalle Dusseldorf. A sua música foi descrita pela imprensa internacional como sendo uma “benção” (Mainz Echo) e tendo “maturidade e intensidade” (Ritmo Magazine), pelo que a sua cidade natal o homenageou com o prémio “Málaga Joven 2011”.

Rafael estreou trabalhos com o vencedor de um Grammy, Sergio Assad e ainda com Joaquin Clerch, Agustin Castilla Avila, David del Puerto e Daniel Real. Realizou concertos com diferentes orquestras como Moscow´s New Russia Symphony Orchestra, Baden-Baden Philharmonic, Thüringer Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, Extremadura Symphony Orchestra e Syrian National Orchestra. Os seus quatro discos com a editora Naxos, KSGExaudio e RTVE receberam o maior reconhecimento internacional como que uma premonição para os Grammy Latinos sendo trnsmitidos pela BBC,CBS, NPR, Radio Stephansdom Vienna, the Bavarian Radio, MDR, Radio Nacional de España e The New Classic FM em Toronto.

Aos 16 anos estreou-se com o “Concerto de Aranjuez” com a Orquestra de ovens Músicos de Málaga, atuando em Espanha eMarrocos. Recebeu bolsas de estudo do Governo Andaluz e da Fundação Alexander von Humboldt que lhe permitiram estudar na Alemanha com o professor Joaquin Clerch, onde se graduou com grande mérito. Posteriormente estudou com o professor Michael Lewin na Royal Academy of Music em Londres.

Rafael Aguirre is an internationally acclaimed musician whose deep understanding of music, dazzling virtuosity and immensely diverse repertoire has taken him to 22 countries. 13 f irst prizes at international competitions (a Spanish record), including Pro Musicis (New York) and Tárrega (Benicàssim), made possible the beginning of an extraordinary career being today one of the most celebrated guitarists, following the Spanish tradition set by Andres Segovia and Narciso Yepes. Highlights of past seasons include recitals in leading concert halls such as Carnegie Hall, Vienna Konzerthaus, Tchaikovsky H a l l M o s c o w, S t . P e t e r s b u r g Philharmonic, London´s St John Smith

Square, Gasteig Munich, Hamburg Laeiszhalle, Palau de la Musica Valencia and Tonhalle Dusseldorf. His playing has been described by the international press as “a blessing” (Mainz Echo) and with “maturity and intensity” (Ritmo Magazine), whereby his hometown honoured him with the “Málaga Joven Award 2011″. Rafael has premiered works by the Grammy-Award winner Sergio Assad, Joaquin Clerch, Agustin Castilla Avila, David del Puerto and Daniel Real. He has worked with orchestras such as Moscow´s New Russia Symphony Orchestra,Baden-Baden Philharmonic, Thüringer Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen,Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, Extremadura Symphony Orchestra and Syrian National Orchestra.

His four recordings with Naxos, KSGExaudio and RTVE received the highest international recognition like a pre nomination to the Latin Grammys and were broadcasted by the BBC, CBS, NPR, Radio Stephansdom Vienna, the Bavarian Radio, MDR, Radio Nacional de España and the new Classic FM in Toronto.

At the age of 16 he made his orchestral debut with the “Concierto de Aranjuez” and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Málaga touring Spain and Morocco. He was awarded scholarships from the Andalusian Government and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation that enabled his studies in Germany with Prof. Joaquin Clerch, from which he graduated with highest honours. Later he studied with Professor Michael Lewin at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Dejan Ivanović: O guitarrista croata Dejan Ivanović nasceu em Tuzla (Bósnia e Herzegovina), em 1976, iniciando os seus estudos de guitarra com 8 anos de idade. Estudou com Predrag Stankovic e Vojislav Ivanovic na Escola Primária e Secundária de Música, e com Darko Petrinjak na Academia de Música de Zagreb. Participou em masterclasses de John Duarte, Thomas Müller-Pering, Elliot Fisk, Costas Cotsiolis, Valter Dešpalj (violoncelo), Michael Steinkühler (viola da gamba) e Igor Lešnik (percussão). A sua ca r re i r a p ro f i s s i ona l começou simultaneamente com o estudo superior (1994-1998). Atuou nalguns dos mais prestigiosos Festivais de Música como Festival de Spoleto (convidado

pessoalmente pelo maestro Gian Carlo Menotti para o lugar de Artista Residente), Festival de Verão de Edimburgo, Festival de Costa de Estoril, Festival de Guitarra de Gevelsberg, Porto 2001— Cidade Europeia da Cultura e Guitarra Viva (Croácia), entre outros. Atua também integrado em vários conjuntos de música de câmara: com flautista Vasco Gouveia, violoncelista Jed Barahal, guitarrista Masakazu Tokutake, soprano Ana Ester Neves, Quarteto de Cordas Lyra, etc. É o vencedor do 1º Prémio e Prémio especial para Melhor Interpretação da Música Espanhola no 13º Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Doña Infanta Cristina (Madrid, 1998); 1º Prémio do 3º Concurso Internacional da cidade de Sinaia (Roménia, 1998); 1º Prémio do 17º Certamen Internacional de Guitarra Andrés Segovia (Herradura, 2001); 1º Prémio e Prémio do Público no 35º Certamen Internacional de Guitarra Francisco Tarrega (Benicássim, 2001); 1º Prémio do 4º Concurso Internacional de Creta (Arhanes, 2005). Colabora regularmente com várias orquestras como a Orquestra Real de Câmara de Wallonie (Bélgica), Orquestra de Benicássim (Espanha), Orquestra de Câmara da Eslováquia, Orquestra Sinfónica de Vojvodina (Sérvia), Orquestra Sinfónica das Beiras, Orquestra Clássica do Centro e Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa. Os seus recitais na Europa, África, América do Norte, América do Sul e Ásia receberam uma forte aceitação por parte do público e da crítica. A sua discografia a solo é constituída por CD Recital na Laureate Series da NAXOS (2002) com obras de Matilde Salvador, Anton García Abril, Frederic Mompou, Richard Rodney Bennett, Malcolm Arnold, Gordon McPherson e Francisco Tárrega, e por CD Mediterraneo (gravado em 2001, aguarda publicação) com obras de Boris Papandopulo, Vicente Asencio, Antonio José Martinez Palácio, Joaquín Rodrigo, Carlo Domeniconi e Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Integra desde 2004, juntamente com o guitarrista grego Michalis Kontaxakis, o Duo de guitarras Kontaxakis-Ivanovich. O primeiro CD deste Duo, intitulado Les Deux Amis e gravado pelo produtor Hubert Kappel em Colónia (Alemanha), foi ançado em 2010 pela Editora KSGEXAudio. Em 2005 cria o Festival Internacional Guitarmania em Lisboa do qual é diretor artístico até 2010. É desde 2007, professor de guitarra no Departamento de Música da Universidade de Évora. É doutorado em Música/Musicologia desde Março de 2015.

Dejan Ivanović: The Croatian guitarist Dejan Ivanovic was born in Tuzla (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 1976 and started his study of the guitar when he was eight, taking lessons in Tuzla with Predrag Stankovic and Vojislav Ivanovi and subsequently at the Zagreb Music Academy with Darko Petrinjak, in addition to participation in master classes with John Duarte, Thomas Müller-Pering, Elliot Fisk, Costas Cotsiolis, Valter Dešpalj (cello), Michael Steinkühler (gamba guitar) e Igor Lešnik (percussion). His professional career started while he was at university, from 1994 to 1998, and he has appeared in some of the most prestigious music festivals, including the Spoleto Festival, at the personal invitation of Gian Carlo Menotti to be the resident artist, the Edinburgh

Festival, the Estoril Summer Festival, the Gevelsberg Guitar Festival, the Porto 2001 - European City of Culture and Guitarra Viva (Croatia) among others. He performs as well with several chamber music ensembles with the flutist Vasco Gouveia, the cellist Jed Barahal, the guitarist Masakazu Tokutate, the soprano Ana Ester Neves, the string quartet Lyra among others. He was awarded with the following prizes: in 1998 - first prize and the special prize for the best interpretation of Spanish Music at the Thirteenth International Guitar Competition "Doña Infanta Cristina" in Madrid, Spain;1998 - First prize in the Third International Competition "Sinaia ‘98" in Romania; 2001 - First prize in the Seventeenth International Guitar Competition "Andrés Segovia" in Herradura, Spain; 2001 - First prize (by unanimity) and audience prize in the 35th International Competition "Francisco Tárrega" in Benicásim, Spain; 2005 – First prize in the fourth International Guitar Competition of Crete Arhanes, Greece. He usually collaborates with several orchestras as the Royal Chamber Orchestra, from Wallonie”(Belgium), Benicássim Orchestra (Spain), Chamber Orchestra from Slovakia, Vojvodina Symphonic Orchestra (Serbia), Beiras Symphonic Orchestra (Portugal), Centro Classical Orchestra (Portugal) and Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra (Portugal). His recitals in Holland, Sweden, Germany, the United States, Ireland, Britain, Italy, Japan, Croatia and Portugal have been acclaimed by both public and critics. He is also a laureate of international contests in Italy, Belgium and Portugal. His discography includes the Guitar Recital CD, in the Laureate Series from NAXOS in 2002, with works of Matilde Salvador, Anton García Abril, Frederic Mompou, Richard Rodney Bennett, Malcolm Arnold, Gordon McPherson and Francisco Tárrega. It also includes the CD Mediterraneo (recorded in 2001, awaits for edition) with works of Boris Papandopulo, Vicente Asencio, Antonio José Martinez Palácio, Joaquín Rodrigo, Carlo Domeniconi and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Since 2004 he integrates, along with the Greek guitarist Michalis Kontaxakisthe, the Guitar Duo Kontaxakis-Ivanovich. This duo first CD “Les Deux Amis” was recorded by the music producer Hubert Kappel in Koln, Germany and released in 2010 by the music label KSGEXAudio. In the year of 2005 he creates the Guitarmania International Festival in Lisbon from which he is the artistic director until 2010. He teaches guitar in the University of Évora, Portugal since 2007. He has got a PHD in Music/Musicology since March 2015.
