Dear Students, World Gratitude Day on 21st September brings the world together in a day of thankfulness. If ever the world needed the restorative power of gratitude, that time is now. Gratitude lifts us up, rejuvenates our spirit and gives us a renewed resolve to meet the un-precedented challenges we are facing today. On this day some people write thank you notes to those they appreciate. Some make a point of having dinners with family members to let them know how thankful they are to have them. Others start a grati-tude journal in which they record what they are grateful for. How you celebrate this day is limited by your own imagination. I have a lot of pleasant memories of this day being celebrated during campus classes. I hope you all re-member the last time we celebrated it at Middle School. You surprised the support staff by inviting them to the assembly and expressed gratitude to them with words and small gifts. It was a lovely experience and I get emotional simply by thinking about it. I hope the fact of you staying at home this year will not prohibit you from celebrations. You are fortunate to be blessed with good parents, siblings, grandpar-ents, relatives, friends, teachers and many others. Please do something special for at least one of them. Express your thoughts of appreciation with a self-made card, text or may be some other unique way. It feels wonderful being acknowledged. You have the op-portunity to make someone feel special so make the most of it. Hector Fernandez

Dear Parents, As we step into September, students have started to get acclimated into their new virtual classes. At CGS, we are hoping to give our students a normal school ex-perience to the best of our abilities. The new wave of the pandemic has brought our nation back to its knees again. But keeping the students mental wellbeing in mind we will continue most of our curriculums virtu-ally. This includes extra-curricular activities. Here at Upper School we provide ample opportunities to our students to participate in various national and inter-national events virtually. These events can include MUN, Olympiads, IT hackathons, Round Square con-ferences, and many other activities. Participating in extra-curricular activities will also ensure that the students are staying active as well as building a strong portfolio for their future endeavours. Apart from these events, we also have various student led clubs that we strongly advise our students to join. They can choose from a wide variety of these clubs based on their interest, such as, MUN club, book club, or Erudite Exchange where they can discuss their thoughts and ideas about current societal issues. Regularly participating in these activities will give the students some taste of their normal school lives. We understand that our children are struggling the most amidst this pandemic. Keeping their mental wellbeing in check is now of the utmost importance. Since they are going to get busy with their examina-tions soon this is the best time to delve into their pas-sions for different activities and hone their skills. Faiza Chowdhury.
