Slightly further afield you will find the Yorkshire Dales National Park with spectacular limestone valleys, picture postcard villages and historic castles. It’s the perfect place for walking, cycling, or enjoying afternoon tea or a pub lunch.

Auchterarder, known as “The Lang Toon” because of its mile and half long high street, is nestled in the Perthshire countryside but within easy reach of the main Scottish tourism centres.

Perth, a pretty market town, is just 15 minutes away and the cosmopolitan cities of Edinburgh and

Glasgow only an hour away.Fans of the great outdoors

will enjoy the majestic hills and mountains, many of which scale heights of over 3,000ft – the perfect location for ‘Munro bagging’. Cyclists will also find a range of routes to suit all levels.

Perthshire is a paradise for the golfer with courses nearby to suit every level of player and the world famous Gleneagles just a few miles away.

Nearby you will also find stately homes, gardens, castles and whisky distilleries to explore.
