Upgrading Information: Repository

If you are upgrading from an InsightUnlimited™ version prior to v9.0.0, you will need to upgrade to

the latest v8.1.11 upgrade build prior to upgrading to this current release.

If you are upgrading from any version of InsightUnlimited, please note that version 2014.1 requires

a new license key. You will need to obtain a new License Key from Customer Support. Once this is

received, please perform a replace in order to retain your License Assignments.

For more information on upgrading, please contact Customer Support.

Prior to upgrading, please make sure your Insight Object Repository is backed up (using your

current InsightUnlimited Administrator Application). This backup is essential for all types of

installs, whether you are installing this version in parallel with an existing previous version or,

alternatively, as a new stand-alone installation.

Any upgrade to 2014.1 requires a new repository to be created. InsightUnlimited 2014.1 requires

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0. Therefore if upgrading from V9.0.x or higher you will need to back

up your current production repository and then restore into a new repository created in 2014.1.

This must be done in order to log into the 2014.1 version.

Database Script Update

If you are upgrading your InsightUnlimited version, you will need to follow a process by which a

script is run over your Oracle Database.

After running the script you will need to confirm all Profile Connections in Administrator for 2014.1

are using the correct username and password. (The new database script allows a unique username

to be used. Please check with your DBA to get the correct username credentials to use in the Data

Connections). You will then have to run through the Profile so it can update with any new tables and

views that 2014.1 uses.

Please note: This should be done in conjunction with an InsightSoftware.com Customer Support

representative who will provide you with the relevant script for Insight release 2014.1 to be run on

your Oracle Database.

Recommendations for All Clients

It is highly recommended that clients switch to using the Built-In Data Provider for their Data

Connections. Issues have been reported with the Oracle Client Data Provider and ODBC Data

Provider.

Dynamic Flex Field Utilization in Oracle E-Business Suite

If Dynamic Flex Fields are utilized in Oracle EBS, data may not display as expected within Insight

Reporting. Please inform Customer Service if using Dynamic Flex Fields and inform them which

tables and fields are utilized.

Purchase Order Detail R12

This template is a replacement for the Purchase Orders R12 template in the Purchasing module.

The R12 template has been replace to allow greater coverage of Purchase Orders. The template can

report on Standard Purchase Orders, Blanket Purchase Agreements, Blanket Releases and Contract

Purchase Agreements.

The template can be used to build either high level summary information or detailed information.

To PO Type field can be used to optimize performance. If you do not use Blankets or Contracts then

the Po Type field can be set to ‘STANDARD’.

GL Journal with Subledger R12

The GL Journal with Subledger template is designed to aid the general ledger accountant in resolving

problems where they are unable to identify, at a glance, what transactions a GL posting relates

to. By joining selected subledger fields into consolidated fields on the new template, we are able to

reduce column explosion while empowering the accountant to answers those burning questions

without needing to go through much hassle.

It is highly recommended for optimal performance that you populate the appropriate filter

criteria necessary prior to running this template (e.g. populate all the segments - Company,

Department, Account and filter by period) as there could be many records of underlying

subledger data queried.

Performance Enhancements

We have made performance enhancements to the following feature functionality within

InsightUnlimited:

Additionally, in InsightUnlimited Administrator™, a performance enhancement has been made in the

Import Metadata End Task within the Profile Wizard.

New User Interface

Login Screen: InsightUnlimited products have a redesigned login screen look that is more modern

and allows for all input to be done within one screen!

Ribbon: InsightUnlimited products have been updated to have a more modern look for release

2014.1. We have updated the ribbon panel to have a Metro Style look in line with Microsoft Office

2013 products. All the positions of the icons on the ribbon have remained the same for this release;

however, more updates are planned for the next release to reorganize the ribbon icons and tabs.

Backstage: The Backstage view within InsightUnlimited includes the set of commands you use to do

things to a document. Within this view, you manage your documents and see related data about

them, you can create a new inquiry, open and close inquiries, export to PDF and Microsoft Excel®,

view permissions, and more.

Strategic Planning

This functionality enables end users to design a budget input form using any table in EBS

incorporated with user-defined data collection columns that hold key driver information for robust

modeling. Strategic Planning can be leveraged for any planning requirement. Some examples

include Capital Expenditure/Depreciation forecasting and planning by sales item. InsightUnlimited is

truly unlimited planning; since InsightUnlimited is completely customizable, there is virtually no

budget input form that cannot be designed to meet any company’s unique requirements. There is

no solution on the market that can integrate with any Oracle EBS environment and enable complete

custom budget functionality integrated with reporting. Requires a new license (DXE) for DX Data

Entry.

Copy Hierarchy

2014.1 offers the ability to copy an existing hierarchy so you no longer have to start from scratch!

This feature is very intuitive and easy to perform. The new copied hierarchy created can also:

Template Clean Up

We have made a number of minor changes requested from our customers to increase the usability

of the templates. For example, the Year and Period fields are no longer mandatory in the GL

Balances Template, allowing for the GL PERIOD field to be used as a replacement.

Mini Address Book

The Mini Address book is a standardized list of fields that will be used whenever InsightUnlimited

joins to a User or Person record. This ensures the same fields can be provided across templates and

ensures only specific HR data is shared about a person record. These new Mini Address fields are

available within most of the templates delivered with each module for InsightUnlimited in 2014.1.

User Interface Re-Design for Currency Code

Historically templates referred to Currency Code as a column caption making it difficult to identify if

the currency code is for Transaction Currency, Functional Currency, Bank Account Currency, etc. We

have strived in this release to ensure any Currency Code that is on the grid as default has a

descriptive name and any currency that is from a fact table or is a Functional Currency should have a

descriptive name. This should make it easier to identify the correct currency code to use.

User Interface Re-Design for Ledger Name

To increase the professional feel of the product, we have removed the references to SOB and

replaced it with Ledger when using R12 templates.

All Columns Available

In each of the templates delivered with 2014.1, the Reporting users will now have access to ALL of

the columns that reside within each table. These columns are accessible for Reporting Users that

have a license to Configurator and can access More Columns via the Columns, Sorting & Grouping

icon.

Archived Templates

A thorough clean-up project was established for this release and as a result, several of our

templates have been consolidated and many have been removed. This effort was done to help

remove confusion about which template to use as many were quite similar in structure. We have

placed all the removed templates into an Archive Folder that resides under the Templates Folder.

Since they now live in the Archive Folder, they will not display when you click “New” and view all

templates for your licensed modules. If you deem that some of these Archived Templates are still of

value to your organization, you can easily move them into the appropriate Module folder under the

Templates Folder and they will then be accessible to your Reporting users.

The Archived templates are no longer being shipped with the software, however any previously built

reports using these templates will still function appropriately:

In addition to the list below, 2014.1 also includes all fixes up to and including 2013.1 SP2.

Administrator & Technical Updates

The SQL Database Script now includes APPS.SO_PRICE_LIST_TL.

InsightUnlimited is loaded successfully when the Windows Print Spooler is hanging.

MOAC security is applied correctly even if no “GL: Data Access Set” value is selected in the

Profile Wizard.

If user doesn't have the "manage license key" capability, they cannot manage the license key

and the button "Manage" is greyed out in all dialogs including the Synchronize User dialog.

New Advanced Capabilities were added to enable/disable output from automatically opening

in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word® or PDF after export.

When applying changes for License Assignments, performance has been greatly enhanced.

Narrative has now been added to the EBS Database Script install for Elevated Permissions.

General Updates

The Console tab in the ribbon for Reporting users has been enabled when either Console or

Budgeting Lite is assigned to the user in the license key.

Users have the ability to extract comments from an inquiry to a table on finalization so that a

customer's automated process can upload them to another system.

A "%" in the Saved Report Name no longer produces an error when exporting output to PDF

or Excel.

When exporting a hierarchy using the 'Export Excel' button in the hierarchy dialog screen,

you now have the option to export as a .tsv (tab-separated values) file.

When a customer name includes an “&” sign in their name, both Inquiry Title and the Excel

Output show the same output; no additional "&" sign is shown.

Users can Switch Responsibilities now without receiving any error.

The decimal separator is displayed correctly for Unit columns after exporting the output to

Excel or PDF.

When exporting to Excel (breaking by workbook), every Cost Center is displayed in a

separate workbook and Cost Centers with zero values no longer display in the same

workbook as the last Cost Center.

A new view has been created (IS_MINI_ADDRESS_BOOK).

Mini Address Book-based TASK_MANAGER join replaces IS_TASK_MANAGERS

Mini Address Book-based TASK_MANAGER & EXPENDITURE_INCURRED_BY joins replace

IS_TASK_MANAGERS & PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F

Mini Address Book based joins are now used in place of the old CREATED_BY, UPDATED_BY

and PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F [now aliased EMPLOYEE] joins.

Mini Address Book view for EMPLOYEE has been added. PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F and

PER_PEOPLE_F are removed.

The CREATED_BY, UPDATED_BY and EMPLOYEE_SUPPLIER tables now include: User Name,

Person ID, Full Name, First Name, Last Name, Employee Number, Email Address, Internal

location, Office number, Title and Work Telephone fields.

The currency code fields from tables IS_GL_DETAILS and XLA_AE_LINES have been named

top Transaction Currency.

The Ledger Name field is called Ledger Name in R12 and Set of Books in 11i.

The HR_ALL_ORGANIZATION_UNITS_TL table has been given the alias of Operating Units TL.

The tab and button have been renamed from "Community Portal" to "Community".

Module Updates

AP: The CREDIT_CARD_TRX_ID field has been added to the Expense Template.

AP: The requester information has been added to the Invoice Distribution R12 template and

is available under the table named “Requester” which is part of the Mini Address Book

enhancement.

AP: The Supervisor information has been added to the Employee Master File Template.

AP: The PO_LINES_ALL.ITEM_DESCRIPTION field has been added to the Invoices and

Payments R12 template.

AP: The Supplier Payment terms have been added to the Suppliers Master File R12 and

Suppliers Site R12 templates.

AP: The AP_INVOICE_PAYMENTS_ALL.CREATION_DATE field has been added to the Invoices

and Payments templates.

AP: The Cleared Amount and Cleared Amount (Functional) values have been added to the

Payments R12 template.

AR: The table MTL_CATEGORIES_B has been added to the Invoice Details R12 template.

AR: The TAX_RATE and LINE_TYPE fields have been added to the AR Invoice and Distributions

template.

AR: The Transaction GL_DATE field has been added to the Aged Debt template.

AR: The Receipt Number field has been renamed to Activity Number.

AR: The AR Invoice Line Description has been added to As Of Aged Debt, Invoice

Distributions and Invoice and Receipts Templates.

AR: Transactions AR template is now available in the AR module.

AR: The Functional Currency Code field has been added to the Activities template.

AR: The Apply Date has been added to the Receipts and Applications template.

AR: The collector information (at customer header level) has been added to the Receipts and

Applications, Invoice Detail and Receipts Distribution templates.

CM: The Bank Account and Bank Branch information has been added to the Bank Statement

Lines template in Cash Management.

FA: The AP_INVOICES_ALL.DOC_SEQUENCE_VALUE field has been added to the (FA) Invoices

R12 template.

FA: The Invoice Received Date, Invoice Date and GL Date fields have been added to the Fixed

Assets Invoices R12 template.

FA: The Asset NBV Schedule template is now showing the correct figures when compared to

Oracle EBS.

FA: On the Asset NBV Schedule template the heading override on fields “Date Asset

Acquired” and “Date First Entered” have been removed therefore allowing the correct date to

display.

FA: Provide new joins to access the account codes of the asset distributions in the FA

Transactions template.

FA: The Depreciation Detail templates (11i and R12) are now showing the correct figures (the

same as the Asset NBV Schedule template).

FA: No longer receive an error when running a report after selecting the Inquiry Option

"Entered Date" on the Asset NBV Schedule R12 template.

FA: The ASSIGNED_TO information has been added to the Asset NBV Schedule template (11i

& R12).

FA: The ASSIGNED_TO information has been added to the Depreciation Details template.

FA: Asset Transactions R12 - the Year field can now be added without a value and without

pivoting.

GL: The Actual Flag is now available in the GL Balances template.

GL: All the attribute columns GL_JE_LINES.ATTRIBUTE11 to ATTRIBUTE20 are now available in

the Transactions AP Plus Non-AP R12 (Linking Only) Template.

GL: Drill down from the GL Balances R12 template has changed from GL Transactions

Summary R12 to GL Journal R12.

GL: The fields ABALANCE (Accounted Balance) and EBALANCE (Entered Balance) are now

available on the GL Journal Template in the main grid of the report.

GL: Visual Assist for Header Name and Batch Name have been added to the GL Journal

template. (11i & R12)

GL: GL Period has been added as a standard filter in Transactions AP R12 template

GL: In the Subledger Accounting R12 template, the Summary Account filter now defaults to *

instead of Y.

GL: Payroll Costing templates now join to Job and Position information.

GL: All the drill links from the GL Transactions Summary R12 template have been copied and

are now available in the GL Journals R12 template.

GL: The Net Entered, Net Accounted, Net Unrounded Entered and Net Unrounded

Accounted values have been added to the Subledger Accounting R12 template.

GL: The Batch ID and Header ID fields are now available as columns in the GL Templates.

INV: The Currency Code field has been renamed to Functional Currency in the Actual Cost

History, Item Cost Detail, Item Cost Summary, Item Master, On Hand Quantity and Standard

Cost History Inventory templates.

INV: The Currency Code field has been replaced with the Functional Currency field in the

Inventory Value vs GL Balances template.

PA: Only valid Key Members are now shown in the templates where the Key Members view

is available. (Commitments, Expenditure Analysis, Expenditure Details by GL Code, Project

Profitability, Project Revenue by GL Code, Project Summary (Multi Currency), Project

Summary by GL Period for 11i & R12)

PA: On the Project Summary (Multi Currency) R12 template we changed calculations to take

into account the customer split for every total so that each total is multiplied by the

percentage located in the CUSTOMER_BILL_SPLIT field and now project totals display

correctly for each customer.

PA: The table PA_FIN_PLAN_TYPES_TL has been added to the PA Budget Versions 11i and

R12 template.

PA: The Functional and Project values have been added to the Commitments R12 template.

PA: The Expenditure Details by GL Code template now includes the Task Manager and

Expenditure Incurred by information.

PA: New Transactional, Functional and Project amounts are available on the Expenditure

Analysis template.

POP: Only valid Key Members are now shown in the Purchase Order Detail R12 template

where the Key Members view is available.

POP: The Vendor Site Code is now available in all the Purchase Order Processing Templates

(11i and R12).

POP: The “Contracts” purchase orders information has been added to the Purchase Order

Details R12 template.

POP: The “Blanket” purchase orders information has been added to the Purchase Order

POP: The PO_REQUISITION_LINES_ALL.CREATION_DATE field has been added to the

Purchasing templates.

POP: Functional Currency Code can be added to PO Receipts in 11i and R12.

POP: The Amount Delivered Functional amount has been added to the Purchase Order


POP: The Release Number and Release date fields have been added to the Purchase Order


POP: The PO_HEADEARS_ALL.CLOSED_CODE and PO_HEADERS_ALL.CANCEL_FLAG fields

have been added to the Purchasing templates.

POP: The PO_LINES_ALL.CONTRACT_NUM and PO_LINES_ALL.ATTRIBUTES (all attributes)

fields have been added to the AP Invoice Distribution Template and all the Purchasing

templates.

POP: The Approver information has been added to the Requisitions, Matching, Purchase

Order and Purchase Order Details templates.

POP: On the Requisition R12 template it is now possible to add the

PO_REQUISITION_LINES_ALL. CANCEL_FLAG with a QBE of <>0 without receiving any errors

when running the report.

POP: The RECEIVED_BY and RECEIVER information has been added to the PO Receipts R12

template.

POP: The information about the Inventory Item has been added to the PO Receipts R12

template.
