RELEVANT GENRE

MOST WATCHED MUSIC VIDEO'S

• According to Metro the most watched Music Video’s in the pop genre are:• Crank Dat- Soulja boy • Singles Ladies- Beyoncé• Thriller- Michael Jackson• Girlfriend- Avril Lavigne• Bleeding Love- Leona Lewis

SINGLE LADIES- BEYONCÉ

From watching Beyoncé's Music video for single Ladies. I feel as if I can see why it would be one of the most watched music video’s. The lyrics highlight the modern representation of women for being independent and being able to be happy and single. This could be very influential for teenage girls/women going through a break up or being single. However she also comes across as a traditional representation of women with the provocative outfit, making her seen like a sex object which is also high lighted by the seductive choreography. This would be make her music video very popular with men as it does have a sexual tone to it but also with the gay men as the choreography and dance routine would be quite easy to imitate.

WRECKING BALL- MILEY CYRUS

Wrecking Ball was the most watched music video within 24 hours, After watching the video you can really tell why it was so watched so quickly relating to the two step flow. When someone see’s it and then tells someone about it and then they see it and then tell someone else about it etc.. The reason why the music video was so popular to watch within 24 hours was because of the controversy it caused for Miley being Naked.

THRILLER- MICHAEL JACKSON

Thriller- Michael Jackson was one of the most watched and influential music videos in the time it came out. After watching the video I was shocked how long the video is (14 mins) when most videos are normally around the 5 minute mark. The reason why it was so watched was because the narrative was the key element. It was so original It felt more like a film trailer rather than a music video it took at least 5 minutes for the song to even start and there was a lot of dialogue.
