The Company

ViarValvole is a 100% Italian Family Owned Company, leader in the design and manufacturing of Ball Valves, mainly for Oil & Gas application.

Based in Italy, 50 km north of Milan, ViarValvole started its business as a reliable partner of the main Italian Valve Manufacturers, earning experience in managing National and International projects. Thanks to the confidence of some International EPC companies, ViarValvole entered the worldwide market getting End users approval and estimation.

ViarValvole extends on a production surface of 10.000 sqm distributed in three locations (main offices and two warehouses in Sumirago and one in Solbiate Arno) and has lifting capability up to 50 tons.

• 1000 sqm for raw materials stock, identification and acceptance of the incoming material• 4000 sqm for machining, assembly and testing of small and medium range valves

• 4000 sqm for machining, assembly and testing of large size valves + 1000 sqm. dedicated to special testing (cryogenic, slurry service, hyperbaric, PR2, etc.)

ViarValvole is equipped with:• Horizontal CNC Machining Centre - Max diam 1200mm.• Horizontal Lathe Machining Centre - Max diam 700mm.• Vertical Lathe Machining Centre - Max diam 1200mm. x max height 600mm.• Horizontal CNC Machining Centre - Max diam 1200mm.

• N°5 Benches for hydraulic tests - up to 650 bar• N°1 Bench for both gas & hydraulic test - up to 650 bar• N°1 Hyperbaric chamber for subsea test - up 200mt.• N°1 Bench for cryogenic test• N°1 Heater equipment - (up to 350°C).

ViarValvole industrial process is governed by “Lean Production” to grant flexibility and reliability.

Procurement of raw material is done on job basis from a list of suppliers which have been qualified by Quality Assurance.

The origin of the raw materials is always Italian or Western European only.

Machining activities are sub-contracted to skilled long-time partner sub-suppliers, while the most critical components are machined internally.

Equipments

Assembly & Delivery After machining, the dimensions of all the components are software scanned acquiring data froma portable 3-D scanner equipped with touch-trigger probes and non-contact sensors.

Continuous point-to point scanning grants the most accurate measurement of lines and angles, preventing the possibility of mismatch during the assembly and reducing the risk of leakage at testing stage.Production flow is continuously monitored by process engineers & expediting team.

Fast track deliveries are granted by a stock of raw and machined forged components for Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel valves.

The materials are all in accordance with ASTM standard and design is according ASME and API 6D specifications.

approach to setting environmental objectives and targets• To achieve these objectives and targets and to demonstrate that they have been achieved ViarValvole is also provided with the API monograms API 6D, API 6A & API 6DSS and is also in compliance with the regulations of the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). ATEX and Fire Safe Certifications (according to API 607 and/or API 6FA) are available for all our valve types.

Quality

ViarValvole ball valves are designed in accordance with customer specifications and process duties, within the provisions of the main international standards (ANSI,ASME, API or PED as applicable), combining strictness in engineering and extent in flexibility.Our engineers work with the aid of the most sophisticated 3-D design programs, integrated with Stress and Deformations simulators.

The simulation of every structural aspect, controlling material stress and deformation, reaction forces and residual strains, is the starting point of our design.

Accurate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software permit us to define the dimensions of all valves components taking into account all the interactions between all the pressures and the loads applied.

Particular care is taken with the analysis of the contact surface of ball and seats, to predict the perfect sealing in double block and bleed configuration even with metal to metal seating. The probability of leakage during in house testing due to engineering mistakes is therefore minimized.

Conservative parameters are always considered in the ratio between external spherical diameter of the ball and the diameter of the seat sealing area. This ratio (within a range of +50%

and + 100% according to pressure class) is the factor that influences the robustness of the trim, ensuring a longer working life and more endurable performance, minimizing the risk of leakage even after several operations of the valve.

In case of particular services or simply upon request, fatigue stress can be also simulated, virtually, with a software, or practically, with a prototype performance test, with several cycles of operation at different pressure and temperature conditions.
