UPDATE ON THE COVtp-I.g OUTBREAK tN UGANDA
08th May, 2O2O- The Ministry of Health confirms thirteen (18) nbw 'CbVlO-fg positive cases

Uganda Virus Research lnstitute (UVRI). The total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases is nowLL4.
Confirmed hew cases:
1. A. 23 year old Kenyan male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry
2. A34 year old Ugandan male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry
3. A 46 year old Tanzanian male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry
4. A 42 year old Ugandan male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry
5. A 26 year old Kenyan male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry
6. A 38 ygar old t<eniran male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry A
7. A 56 year old Kenyan male who arrived from l(enya via Malaba border point of entry
8. A 35 year old Kenyan male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry
9. A 30 year old Kenyan male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry
10. A 44 year old Kenyan male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry
!1,. A32 year old Ugandan male who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point of entry
12. A 30 year old Ugandan male who arrived from Tanzania via Mutukula border point of entry
13. A27 year old Tanzanian male who arrived from Tanzania via Mutukula border point of entry
Tracking of the above confirmed cases is underway and the public will be informed accordingly.
To-date, a total of 54 truck drivers (26 Kenyans, !7 Tanzanians, 1 Burundian, 1- Rwandese, L
Eritrean and 8 Ugandans) have tested positive for COVID-1"9 in Uganda. Of these, 23 have
returned to their respective countries.
Currently, there are 23 admitted COVID-L9 confirmed cases and all are in stable condition at;Mulago National Specialised Hospital (2), Entebbe Grade B Hospital (4), Arua Regional Referral
Hospital (5), Jinja Regional Referral Hospital (2), Masaka Regional Referral Hospital (5), Hoima
Referral Hospi-t"al (1), Gulu Referral Hospital (2), Mbale Regional Referral Hospital (1) and Kabale
Regional Referral Hospital (1). The number of discharged patients in Uganda is 55.
