It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Sprott School of Business and Carleton University!

At Sprott, you will receive a world-class business education and outstanding student support, dedicated exclusively to Sprott students. We’re known for our caring and connected community so I encourage you to get to know your professors, student services team and peers.

I am proud to announce that the Sprott School of Business has recently achieved AACSB accreditation, which represents the highest standard of quality achievement for business schools worldwide. AACSB-accredited schools have the highest quality faculty, relevant and challenging curriculum, and provide educational and career opportunities that are not found at other business schools.

During your time here, you will have many opportunities that allow you to gain value-added experiences, skills and connections that will enhance your education and help you to stand out to employers. I strongly encourage you to enrich your academic experience and your resumé by getting involved. Whether it’s taking part in interuniversity business competitions through Sprott Competes, working on our student-managed investment portfolio – The Fund @ Sprott, going on an international exchange, getting involved with student organizations, taking part in co-op and career development opportunities or developing a business through a host of entrepreneurship initiatives, there is something for every student.

I look forward to seeing you on campus!

Sincerely,Dr. Jerry TomberlinDean, Sprott School of Business

Block off lecture and tutorial times. Consider these times untouchable.

Block off commute times, taking into account bus schedules, peak traffic periods and classroom locations.

Add in the hours that you know you need to work. Try to find a job that offers flexible hours and is close to campus.

Block off an extra 3 hours for each class. This is time that you will need to read, prepare for class, complete assignments, study for tests and meet with groups.

Breathe! Life as a Sprott student is busy, but amazing. If you stick to your schedule, work hard, put academics first and get involved, you will have incredible memories, an excellent professional network and a well-earned degree at the end of your time at Sprott.
