Dear Parents/Guardians,
For safety reasons we will be locking the main doors everyday
at 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Please ensure that your child arrives
at school everyday on time. If your child is later than 9:15 a.m.
and 1:15 p.m., please call the office and walk them to school
and enter in through the parking lot doors. Please ensure your
child is dressed for the cold weather!
The children play outside every day at recess and after lunch. It is important that they dress warmly. If you need help getting winter clothing
for your child please contact Tammy in the Parent Room.
Reminder that our Primary Concert for Rooms

Thursday, December 14th at 6:00 p.m.
Have a fun and relaxing winter break!
Wishing you all a very Healthy and Happy 2018!

Le coin français (The French corner)
Are you looking for things to do with your children during the holiday season? Why not do something in French? Here is a list of things that you can do with your children to keep up with their French over the break:
• Visit the St. Boniface Library and borrow French books, movies and music that you can bring home.
• Visit the Manitoba Museum and ask for a French interpreter • Take a guided tour of the St. Boniface Museum (494 Taché Ave.). It is the
oldest building in Winnipeg, and the largest oak log structure in North America. The museum showcases objects related to the heritage of
French-Canadian and Métis peoples. • Stop by on nearby Provencher Blvd for something to eat. Try Chocolatier
Constance Popp (180 Provencher Blvd. ) for some delicious chocolate or even Promenade café for lunch or dinner (130 Provencher Blvd.)
• Shop for French books and games. There are 2 French book stores in St.
Boniface: Librairie À La Page (200 Provencher Blvd.) and La boutique du Livre (129 Marion Street).
• Visit the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre (340 Provencher Blvd. )
Saturday, December 2nd to take part in Santa’s Village. Children can experience the magic of Christmas in an enchanting setting resembling the North Pole. Ages are 6 months-8 years old. Please visit the website for more information http://ccfm.mb.ca/en/santas-village/
NEWS FROM THE GYM Mr. Delgado, Physical Education Teacher
The past couple of weeks have taken on a video game theme in Phys. Ed. Class. We have adapted the classic arcade game Frogger, and a very popular computer game called Sliter.io into fun and active games that teach fundamental movement skills. Frogger focuses on transportation skills such as running, hopping, and jump-ing along with strategic and teamwork components, and Slither.io focuses on teamwork and cooperation. We were even able to tie in some math and counting collections into Slither.io.
Important Dates:
November 28, 2017 - Grade 4/5 Volleyball Tournament at Wolseley School
November 30, 2017 - Grade 6 Soccer Game at The University of Winnipeg
December 12, 2017 - Grade 6 Volleyball Tournament at Wellington School
Permission forms will be sent home shortly for students on these teams.
MUSIC NEWS
A huge congratulations goes out to the Vic Al Dragonaires lunch hour choir who did a fantastic job of singing at Choralfest on November 21st!
Their singing and excellent behaviour made our school shine! Our next big project is to prepare for our Division wide musical, the Lion King. Our choir will join with 300 other students at the Concert Hall on February 13th as we all present songs from the Broadway version of the musical the Lion King. This will be an exciting musical adventure, and I look forward to working with our students on this fantastic musical project!
And speaking of the Lion King, one of our fabulous grade 4 students, Fatma Jusef will be playing one of the lead roles in the musical, so a huge congratulations goes out to her as well.
Way to go Fatma!
