Congratulations!!
Dear Families,
What a fun time our school had this week at the ‘rock ‘n’
roll’ concert they attended at the community centre.
A big thanks once again to Mrs KJ for organising this
visiting performance and it was fantastic to see the students
enjoying the music, costumes and also for some, having a go at
the iconic moves made famous by many of the original Rock ‘n’
Roll greats.
I have to say I was most impressed with a young Elvis we
have amongst our students, I definitely think there is a career in
music for this young man!!
Melbourne Cup Day
There have been a few
questions around the Melbourne
Cup weekend and school
operations. School will operate
as usual on Monday 5th
November, however Tuesday the
6th November is a Public Holiday
and there will be no school on
this day.
2013 Class Structures
During term 4 we will
again undertake the process of
determining classes for 2013.
We invite parents to submit any
requests they have around
student placements and must
receive these in writing by
Friday the 2nd of November.
All requests are taken
into account when the structure
of class groups is decided,
however we are not able to
make any guarantees around
requests made.
Page 2 Nathalia Primary School
As 4th term moves on we
often find our children
become more tired, add to
this the warmer weather and
often it is a challenge for
some young ones to stay
focussed and on task.
To help your child enjoy
school through to the end of
the year it is a good idea to
ensure they get extra sleep
and have some quiet times at
the end of the day. Sharing a
book with them on the couch
or having a chat about their
day are just 2 ideas around
creating that quiet space for
them.
It is best to avoid too much
TV, time on computers or use
of electronic games as these
are known to increase eye
fatigue and make the
situation worse.
If you are unsure how your
child is managing the days
please pop in and have a chat
to your classroom teacher.
L ost property
As the warmer
weather approaches and year
draws to a close our
lost property is
again overflowing
(with un-named
items) and I would
encourage parents
to take the time to come and
look through it.
Over the next 2 weeks,
any unclaimed items will be
donated to the local opportunity
shop.
Vicki McManus,
Principal.
