We are very close to completing the redecoration/remodel of our Club! As is usual in projects such as this, intense effort is focused on the last few days and it looks as though we will be open just a few days later than we forecasted in our original, very aggressive time line. We are trying very hard to be open before the weekend of September 20 – 21 (just five days later than planned). We will keep you informed by email, or if you want to get an update, please call the Club at (208) 343-4631. When we are open, I know you will be very pleased with the new environment. Our entry has been updated with new furniture, a new chandelier and you will be greeted by our Host/Hostess from a new reception desk that faces the front doors. These doors will shortly be replaced with new glass paneled doors that will enhance and create a more dramatic entrance to the Arid Club. The new carpet, furniture, draperies, and wall covering have changed the atmosphere of the Dining Area and Lounge to one of warmth and elegance. The Bar is also now more inviting, which will better accommodate use of the bar itself, and will include a renewed focus on the “Members” or open table. The men’s restrooms on the main level and in the Card Room, have also been redone. Several new features have also been added. In the upper Dining Area, a “Wine Wall” has been added which will present a beautiful cherry wood structure with wine bottle storage visible from the dining area. This will also hide the service area between the doors to the kitchen. Also, a new wine storage area has been created on the second floor. This area will have wine lockers available to members who wish to purchase and store their own private “stash” of wine purchased through the Club. More on this will be coming to you shortly. I would like to thank our General Manager, Alvin Charlton, and his staff, for all of their hard work and patience through this difficult process. While there is still a week or so of work ahead, I am confident that they will have our facility ready as soon as possible, as we’re all anxious to get back to the Arid Club. Also, Judi Kieffer and her group, KDG Design, have done an outstanding job of designing and coordinating this ambitious project. We feel confident you will be pleased with our efforts. 1 George Iliff Remodel Committee Page 1: Remodel Committee Page 2: Early Bird Menu Club Calendar Page 3: New Member Committee New Members New Nominees Page 4: Reopening Flyer Just a Reminder Page 5: Meeting Facilities Page 6: Club Contacts September 2008

New Member Committee I hope you are as excited as I am about the remodel of the Arid Club. I believe now is the time to invite new members to enjoy the updated, elegant environment of the Arid Club. Please take the time to invite a colleague, either as an individual or a corporation, to be a member of the Club. The Membership Committee is composed of Jim Steele, Jim Smith, Bill Vascon-cellos, Alicia Ritter and Steve Bruce. Our goal is to have a full membership of 350 members by December 31, 2008. Our current membership is 326. When members leave the area or retire, it is imperative to continually add new members. As you know, the Arid Club offers great networking and fellowship. Please spread the work and help us reach our goal. Or, call a member who may have terminated their membership, and ask them to reconsider coming back to enjoy the fellowship. The Membership Committee will continue working hard to attain full membership with quality people. We will be identifying corporations who could benefit from a membership at the Arid Club, and will be inviting them to come view the new digs. If you have any suggestions for enticing new members, please email me ([email protected]) or one of the other committee members. We welcome your input. Tami Brandstetter
