Step 2: Confirm to proceed the application online

If the below screen appears, it means you can complete the entire application process remotely without visiting our Business Centre.

Tips:

Before proceeding with the remote account application, please ensure that you have downloaded HSBC HK Business Express mobile app. During the application, some steps must be completed via the app using the same mobile device.

If you want to add the services shown below (or any other services that we need a physical signature for) to the business account, please scroll down and click 'Apply in Business Centre' to complete the application via a face-to-face meeting. Alternatively, you can visit us to add these services once the account has been opened:

‧ Investment account

‧ Trade facilities and services

‧ Cheque book, business debit card or business credit card

‧ Secured Credit

Step 3: Provide further information and upload required documents

You have to provide some more information about your company. Depending on the company type, a list of required documents will be shown. Upload each of the required documents directly on the page, then click “Continue” to proceed. You can also click “Save my progress” to save the information entered and document uploaded, and come back to this page within 180 days to complete the application.

Step 4: Confirm the application

You can review the details before confirming the application. Simply click on each section to expand, view and edit the details.

After reviewing the details, the authorised signatory(s) needs to scroll down and click “Confirm application”. An SMS with a verification code will be sent to the listed mobile number. Enter the verification code and click “Confirm”.

Step 5: Pay the account application fee

On the same page, you can scan the QR code on the screen using your own mobile payment app that supports Faster Payment System (FPS) to pay the account application fee.

Once the payment is completed, the screen will refresh and show that the payment is “Received”. Then click “Submit Application”.

If you are unable to pay the account application fee via FPS, you have to allow us to debit the fee from your account once it’s opened. Please make sure there is enough money in the account to cover the fee within 30 working days from account opening.

Step 6: Verify identity

Once the application is submitted, the below screen will appear with details of the next steps to be completed via the HSBC HK Business Express mobile app.

If you have not downloaded the app, scan the QR code on the screen to download. Then follow the below steps to verify your identity:

1. Open the HSBC HK Business Express mobile app.

2. Go to “More > Account & Servicing > Online Account Opening”.

3. Enter the username and password created for this application.

4. After choosing company profile,

scan the QR code on the screen using Business Express app to prefill the application ID, company name and email address, or manually input this information.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions on the app to scan your identity document and take a selfie to complete the identity verification process.

6. Upon successful identity verification, the below screen with the business account number and user short name will be shown.

Step 7: Register for Business Internet Banking

1. Click “Continue” to register for Business Internet Banking immediately to instantly access the account once it is ready to use.

2. Fill in your ID number and company name. The business account number and the user short name obtained just now have been pre-filled here.

Tips:

If you are not ready to register for Business Internet Banking at this stage, you can follow the on-screen instructions to complete the registration in the coming 3 calendar days. Otherwise, you can only register for Business Internet Banking after the account is opened.

3. Create your username, password and secondary password to access Business Internet Banking. Please follow the guidelines to create an appropriate username and strong passwords. The password will be used for logging on to the account later and the secondary password will be used to activate Mobile Security Key.

4. Set up security questions. You will need to answer these questions to

reset your passwords in the future.

5. Enter your personal details. The email address will be used to receive logon notifications.

6. Review and confirm the registration details to complete the registration process.

Step 8: Activate Mobile Security Key

Once Business Internet Banking is registered successfully, you will be invited to activate Mobile Security Key, which is required to log on to Business Internet Banking and perform other online banking services.

Click “Log on”, then enter the username, password and secondary password that have been created just now.

1. You will be immediately invited to activate Mobile Security Key. Click “Activate now”.

2. Select a profile for Mobile Security Key activation. Since we will send verification codes to the mobile number and email address shown on the screen during the Mobile Security Key activation process, if you do not have access to this email address and SMS to this mobile number, please select another profile. Click “Continue” to proceed.

3. Enter the verification codes sent to the mobile number and email address of the chosen profile.

4. Once the verification is successful, you can set up the Mobile Security Key PIN. Follow the guidelines to create a strong PIN for your account security. Click “Complete verification” and the Mobile Security Key will be activated.

5. If the mobile device supports biometrics authentication, you will be invited to activate your Face ID/Touch ID/Fingerprint ID the first time you log on to HSBC HK Business Express mobile app. Enabling biometrics authentication allows you to access your business account and confirm online or mobile transactions even faster through fingerprints or facial recognition.

Final tips:

1. We will review the account application and send a confirmation via SMS to the authorised signatory once the account is opened.

2. If the authorised signatory has received the account opening confirmation, registered Business Internet Banking and activated Mobile Security Key, he or she can instantly access the account online or via HSBC HK Business Express mobile app.

3. Please visit our Business Centre within 3 months and provide the signature of the authorised signatory to enjoy the full services of the integrated account.
