Placement CriteriaPlacement Criteria

Intellectual: • Qualifying CogAT Scores: All 3 scores (Verbal, Quantitative, Non-Verbal) are at the 90th

percentile or higher with a total of 280 percentile points or greater combined*

*If other state approved cognitive ability measures are submitted, each will be evaluated following the above criteria

Achievement: • AzMERIT results• Highly Proficient in reading and math• Current report card• Other achievement testing such as DIBELS,

SRI, DRA, etc.

Parent & Teacher Input:• 2 teacher• 1 parent/guardian

Forms: • Renaissance application • Open enrollment (Submitted online)• Student Profile of Gifted Characteristics (2

teacher & 1 parent )

Forms are available for download at www.renaissance.dvusd.org. All forms must be

submitted electronically [email protected] before application review

will occur.

2016-17 School Year Application Dates & Deadlines

• Accepting applications beginning Nov. 2, 2015

• Completed applications due May 11, 2016

• First round placement letters e-mailed to parents May 16, 2016

• Second round applications due May 27, 2016

• Second round placement letters e-mailed June 3, 2016

• Summer application deadline June 30, 2016
