The SERREE Renewable Energy Industry Cluster is a dynamic network of over 750 stakeholders who together represent the diversity of the sector across:

SERREE Industry Cluster

• Industry • Business• Governments • Related organisations and allied businesses

• Research• Education• Community

...across (and beyond) the south east NSW-ACT region:

CommunicationsNetwork Portal – the SERREE website, designed and regularly updated with strong depth of content to facilitate member collaboration and information sharing and to leverage and promote the region.

Network Directory – an ever-expanding on-line listing of the region’s key renewable energy stakeholders, organisations and allied businesses.

Industry News Update – a popular weekly e-newsletter to inform network members of the latest industry news, events and opportunities. Average ‘open’ rates: 43% and ‘click through’ rates: 41%

ProjectsRenewable Energy Trail – an educational, self-drive tourism experience to showcase the diversity of renewable energy infrastructure sites in the region.

CBR Renewables Precinct – the establishment of a central hub for co-location of renewable energy stakeholders to further catalyse industry development and innovation.

Economic Development Modelling and Supply Chain Mapping – to quantify the benefits of the renewable energy industry to the local region and to map the region’s current renewable energy capability and capacity and its supply chain relationships to identify gaps that can be opportunities for sector development.

West Belconnen Microgrid Study – a research project focussed on understanding social attitudes to the inclusion of a community-owned microgrid as part of the West Belconnen residential development.

Microgrids Sub-Cluster – establishment of a new SERREE Microgrids Sub-Cluster that will utilise the Cluster model and networks to foster closer collaboration between microgrid stakeholders.

Regional Renewable Energy Model – a best practice renewable energy industry cluster model that can be replicated in other regions across Australia.

ObjectivesIndustry Development – driving growth in sector investment, employment opportunities, business capacity and capability, and regional economic development benefit.

Innovation – supporting researchers and entrepreneurs to accelerate the design, development, adoption and export of new products and services.

Education – providing pathways for students and existing workers to embrace new opportunities to up-skill to enter the renewable energy industry.

Supportive Policy – progressing government policy focus and alignment to provide a strong and stable environment for industry growth.

Engaged Regional Communities – community-wide understanding of and appreciation for renewable energy and the industry’s potential to deliver regional economic development benefits.

Embracing an Industry Cluster philosophy of COLLABORATION, INNOVATION and INFORMATION SHARING to develop a stronger

renewable energy industry.

EventsBusiness Forums – member events to provide information, discuss issues, broker connections, form partnerships and profile regional opportunities, projects and expertise.

Industry Roundtables – high-level stakeholder meetings to progress opportunities and resolve challenges to industry development.

Renewable Energy Day – a showcase of the strength and diversity of the region’s renewable energy sector.

2016 Conference – leading industry experts sharing information about current opportunities to optimise renewable energy business growth and success.
