TYPE OF DEFECT: HEAVY CORROSION AND LEAK PIPE SIZE: 12, 16, 18 & 20 INCHES DESIGN PRESSURE: 5 - 10 BAR

DESIGN TEMPERATURE: 30 °C CLIENT: CENTURY ENERGY SERVICES LIMITED LOCATION: AMARDA PERKASA FPSO (OML 112) 3X PRODUCT: REINFORCEKIT 4D PROJECT YEAR: JANUARY 2013

OVERVIEW

Different lines were inspected & discovered to have suffered from corrosion (internally & externally) and a leak. A repair was done to provide sufficient hoop stress reinforcement in order to stop the leak and prevent further corrosion tendency using 3x composite repair technology.

SCOPE OF WORK

Reinforcement was done according to the proprietary 3X finite elements calculation programme and ASME PCC-2 standard. Required layers of composite were applied to reinforce the water ballast lines.

F3X8 & F3XS1 fillers (3X) were applied at the damaged portions after degreasing surface prepared areas with acetone.

R4D-EC and R4D-IC kits were used during the installation works.

Aramide tape (kevlar tape 50m/100mm) was impregnated with R3X5 and R3X1060 resins (3X) and helically wrapped with 50% tape overlap until required number of layers were achieved. The leaking lines were shut down and drained throughout the reinforcement process.

Curing time of 72 hours before start up.

RESULTS

The required reinforcement was carried out successfully and satisfactorily while observing every implementation procedure and standards (ASME PCC-2, ISO 24.817).

TYPE OF DEFECT: LEAK PIPE SIZE: 4 INCHES FLEXIBLE GAS LINE TESTED PRESSURE: 1000 PSI CLIENT: ADDAX PETROLEUM LOCATION: ADRP 1 (OML 123) 3X PRODUCT: REINFORCEKIT 4D PROJECT YEAR: JUNE 2013

OVERVIEW A 4” high pressure flexible gas line was inspected & discovered to have a leak just below the second subsea riser clamp. The leak changed the riser profile from vertical to approximately 45 degree angle towards the seabed. It was also noticed that at the area where the leak was, some of the protective layer was damaged. Within this area, gas bubbles were escaping. A repair was done to provide sufficient hoop stress reinforcement in order to stop the leak using 3x composite technology.

SCOPE OF WORK Reinforcement was done according to the proprietary 3X finite elements calculation programme and ASME PCC-2 standard. Required layers of composite were applied to reinforce the flexible gas line. F3X8 & F3XS1 fillers (3X) were applied at the damaged portion after degreasing surface prepared area with acetone. R4D-IC kits were used during the installation works. Aramide tape (kevlar tape 50m/100mm) was impregnated with R3X5 resins (3X) and helically wrapped with 50% tape overlap until required number of layers (40) were achieved. The line was shut down throughout the reinforcement process. Curing was aided by the use heating element .

RESULTS The required reinforcement was carried out successfully and satisfactorily while observing every implementation procedure and standards (ASME PCC-2, ISO 24.817).

TYPE OF DEFECT: NOTCH (80mm x 10 mm) PIPE SIZE: 8 INCHES DESIGN PRESSURE: 140 BAR DESIGN TEMPERATURE: 35 °C CLIENT: TOTAL E&P NIGERIA LOCATION: OBAGI FLOW STATION (OML 58) 3X PRODUCT: REINFORCEKIT 4D PROJECT YEAR: NOVEMBER 2013

OVERVIEW A section of an 8” carbon steel water injection line at OB66 was externally damaged (notch) during an excavation job. The damage on the water injection line caused a considerable loss of wall thickness on the affected section. A repair was done to provide sufficient hoop stress reinforcement in order to resist the internal pressure and prevent corrosion tendency using 3x composite repair technology. SCOPE OF WORK The whole repair was done according to the proprietary 3X finite elements calculation programme and ASME PCC-2 standard. Sixteen (16) layers of composite were found necessary to reinforce the pipeline. F3X8 filler (3X) was applied at the damaged area after degreasing surface prepared area with acetone. As this pipeline operates between ambient and 35°C temperature, the R4D-EC kits were used. Aramide tape (kevlar tape) was impregnated with R3X1060 resin (3X) and helically wrapped with 50% tape overlap until required number of layers were achieved. Curing time of 72 hours prior to backfilling. RESULTS The required reinforcement was carried out successfully and satisfactorily while observing every implementation procedure and standards (ASME PCC-2, ISO 24.817 and TOTAL GS EP PLR 310).

TYPE OF DEFECT: INTERNAL CORROSION DEFECT LOCATION: 2 INCHES GAS FLARE LINE OPERATING PRESSURE: 14 BARGS OPERATING TEMP: 20DEGREES CENTRIGRADE CLIENT: TOTAL E&P NIGERIA LOCATION: ODP 1 PLATFORM 3X PRODUCT: REINFORCEKIT 4D (R4D) PROJECT YEAR: NOV 2016

OVERVIEW 2 inches Gas Flare line at ODP 1 Platform was inspected & discovered to have suffered from corrosion. Repair was done to provide sufficient hoop stress reinforcement in order to stop and prevent corrosion tendency using 3x composite repair technology. SCOPE OF WORK The repairs was done according to the proprietary 3X finite elements calculation programme and ASME PCC-2 standard. Required layers of composite were applied to reinforce the corroded points. F3X8 filler (3X) was applied at the corroded points after degreasing surface prepared areas with Acetone. Aramid tape (Kevlar tape 50/50) was impregnated with R3X5 and helically wrapped with 50% tape overlap until required number of layers were achieved on the gas flare line. RESULTS The required reinforcement was carried out successfully and satisfactorily while observing every implementation procedure and standards (ASME PCC-2, ISO 24.817 ).
