New Strategies needed to increase the profit
If I would be the MD of this company, that is KPIT Cummins Infosystems Limited, I would try out
the following strategies to increase the profit and gain a distinctive edge in the market.
1. Enter into new markets: The Company has the headquarters in Pune and most
of its operations come from this area only. While as, the companies like Infosys,
Wipro, TCS and Bosch have got offices and working units in many major cities
such as Bangalore, Noida, Hyderabad etc and hence they become easily
reachable to their clients. My first job as an MD to increase the sales will be enter
into new markets (new cities) and give the clients an option to assign the projects
in most parts of India.
2. Participation in more SR Programs: The next thing that I will adopt to increase
the profit is to get the customer confidence by posing the company as a more
socially responsible company. Even though the company is already involved in
many activities like plantation drive, yoga facilities for employees, computer
training programmes etc but all these programs are limited to a specific
geographical area such as Pune. The basic idea behind this strategy would be to
make more and more people aware about the Company and its operations.
3. Participation in Government Projects: The Company has been very less
involved in government undertaken projects unlike the other IT giants. I as an MD
will approach the Government of India and State governments to get the
opportunity of completing and delivering the various government projects which
are till now carried out by other competitors. A very well designed project will
initiate the process of taking up more and more projects with government which
will result in exponential profit increment.
4. Benefits to the existing clients: Cummins is the largest customer of KPIT
Cummins Infosystems accounting for 43% of sales. My job as an MD would be to
give special Offers to the existing clients so that they can continue to account for
the company as the loyal clients. And new clients will be provided with special
offers to make them the permanent customers of the company.
