3. TRANSNATIONAL COORDINATION MEETING OF
THE PROJECT.
Coordination meeting at the IES José Marín
On Thursday, April 11, 2019 the erasmus project teachers hold a coordination
meeting on the state of development of the project in which the following points
are discussed:
1. Dissemination of the project at the local level. The European coordinator
(Poland) indicates the need for the dissemination of the project at the local
level, newspapers, radio, website of the institute, etc.
2. Duration of mobilities to partner centers. It is indicated by some partners
that the three days of duration is too short and makes it difficult to travel.
3. It is approved that for mobility to Bulgaria students prepare an
exhibition / poster about the Fauna and Flora of each geopark.
4. Hungary proposes to limit student activities only in the mornings. Spain
indicates that this is very complicated because the visits to the geoparks
must be complete and last the necessary time to know them geologically,
which is the main objective of this Erasmus project.
5. The method of selection of students and the level of English that students
and teachers should have are discussed. The Spanish coordinator and host
of this mobility wants to make an "a posteriori" point on this aspect: "The
Spanish students have been selected taking into account the qualifications
of the previous course in Geology and Biology, Geography and History
and English. The English language is a great communication tool, but it is
NOT the official language of the EU or the Erasmus projects. All EU
languages are official and equally respectable and bring enormous cultural
richness to Erasmus projects. It can not be required to have a high level in
English nor can it be required that all teachers be specialists in Geology.
The main objective of this erasmus project is for students and teachers to
know and understand the genesis of the great Geodiversity of the EU ".
6. It is advised that the coordinator attend all the mobilities to give
continuity to the project.
23
4. CULTURAL ACTIVITIES. In parallel with the official activities on the Geoparks of Cabo de Gata-Níjar and
Quaternary of the Valleys of the North of Granada, a series of cultural,
gastronomic, musical activities, etc. have been programmed with the aim of
enriching the mobility and knowing the culture of the south of Spain.
