Evaluation Process

• A 3 step technology evaluation method was adopted– Step 1 respond to seven questions about the

technology– Step 2 discussion in the ETSC to determine move

forward with new work or further discussion necessary. (Possible formation of a subgroup)

– Step 3 recommend to the TC for work to be 1) remanded to an existing Committee (and then the Committee can decide where that work goes), or to 2) create a new Committee

Evaluation Process• Seven Questions:– What is the candidate technology?– What industry does this technology impact?– What aspect of this technology needs standardization?– Who are the TIA member companies or potential

companies that support this technology?– Are there any associations/organizations that work in

this area?– Do those associations make standards in this technology

area?– Does the expertise for standardizing this technology

already exist in the TIA community?
