Report on Alumni Meet Jan 2019
Department of Mechanical Engineering
An Alumni meet was conducted on Saturday, 19th January 2019 at Vishwakarma Institute of Information
Technology, Pune. Total 62 Mechanical Engineering Alumni across the globe registered and attended the
meet and gave their valuable feedback and suggestions for betterment of mechanical engineering department,
Institute and Alumni Association. Faculties and staff members, VIIT alumni Student Council and Aavishkar
Group members were present for the meeting.
The chief dignitaries Prof. Dr. B. S. Karkare, Director-VIIT, Prof. Dr. R. S. Acharya, Dean-Student Activity,
Mr. Hemant Dusane, President-VIITAA, Mr.Adarsh Kedari, Secretary-VIITAA, Mr. Akshay Nahar, Vice
President- VIITAA, Prof. Vishal Ambhore, Treasurer- VIITAA, Prof. Subhash Tatale, Head-Alumni Activity
were present.
Alumni Meet Scheduled as Follows:
Registration was started at 5.30 pm. After that Inauguration of Alumni Meet, Guest Speeches held till 6.30 pm.
Prof. Dr. B.S.Karkare, Prof. Dr. R. S. Acharya, Mr. Hemant Dusane shared their views about Autonomy of
VIIT, Student Activities at VIIT, Involvement of Alumni in college development, Future plans of Alumni
association’s activities.
Afterwards, dance, shadow painting and live painting was performed by “VIIT Aavishkar Group”.
After that Prize Distribution Ceremony was done. We felicitated our distinguished alumni who done remarkable
work in their professional career. Also we felicitated to alumni who are continuously contributing in our
institute in terms of conducting guest lectures, workshops, mentoring student, providing job and internship
opportunities to our students.
The session was concluded by the vote of thanks to the working committee as well as everyone who was
present for the meet. A dinner was arranged for the entire gathering.
The event was a great success in its prime motive of Connecting and Networking between the alumnus, faculty,
staff members and the present students and to take feedback and suggestions from Alumni for betterment of
mechanical engineering department, Institute and Alumni Association and improvement of placement statistics,
industry sponsored projects, internships.
