F i r s t l y , I w o u l d l i k e to c o n g r a t u l a t e t h e n e t b a l l e r s w i t h C g r a d e m a k i n g t h e grand f i n a l b u t u n f o r t u n a t e l y n o t a b l e t o t a k e i t o f f , a n d B g r a d e o n m a k i n g t h e g r a n d f i n a l a n d w i n n i n g the premiership.
T o o u r f o u r t h s I c o n g r a t u l a t e a l l t h e b o y s i n m a k i n g the g r a n d f i n a l f o r t h e s e c o n d c o n s e c u t i v e y e a r . T h e w o r k put i n b y R o n , G a r y a n d C h r i s t i a n w a s i m m e n s e , a n d certainly s e t a n e x a m p l e f o r m a n y o t h e r s t o f o l l o w . I w i s h both c o a c h e s w e l l f o r n e x t s e a s o n , a s t h e c l u b h a s s h o w n faith i n t h e i r c o a c h i n g a n d r e - a p p o i n t e d R o n a n d G a r y f o r 1991. C o n g r a t u l a t i o n s t o S h a n e Q u i g l e y f o r g e t t i n g t h e U/17 t e a m i n t o t h e f i n a l s . I f n u m b e r s w e r e g r e a t e r , i t would p u t m o r e p r e s s u r e o n a l l p l a y e r s t o a t t e n d t r a i n i n g and h o p e f u l l y p r o d u c e a b i t m o r e o n f i e l d . We h o p e t o s e e the 3 r d s p r o g r e s s f u r t h e r n e x t season.

A s y o u w o u l d h a v e n o t i c e d , the l i g h t s a r e c o m p l e t e , t h a n k s t o t h e e f f o r t s o f many v o l u n t e e r s , b o t h i n d i v i d u a l s a n d l o c a l b u s i n e s s e s . The s h o w e r s e a r n e d t h e t i t l e " b e s t i n t h e MGFL" (actual q u o t e ! ) a n d t h i s w a s p o s s i b l e a g a i n t o t h e voluntary e f f o r t s o f n u m e r o u s p e o p l e , e s p e c i a l l y H u g h T a y s o n whose e x p e r t h a n d w a s v e r y w e l c o m e . T h e r e w e r e several i m p r o v e m e n t s t o t h e s o c i a l r o o m s , n a m e l y i n t h e fitting o f a n e w f r o n t e n t r a n c e a n d w o o d h e a t e r . T h a n k s t o Rob W a l s h ( S a l e S h o p f i t t e r s ) a n d B r i a n B r o u g h t o n (BBQ's G a l o r e ) f o r t h e i r contribution.
