Reporting Rubric Data Off-Line A new feature has been added to eTIGER. Teachers can now report rubric data off-line! This allows users not only to enter the data off-line but also to enter and upload the data as an entire class or a few selective student records. The option of reporting rubric data by individual standard is still accessible in eTIGER. Rubric off-line data reporting requires the following four major steps: 1. Download the rubric template with current rubric data 2. Save the Rubric Template as a csv file 3. Enter/change rubric data 4. Upload the Rubric Template data file To Download the Rubric Template with Saved Data Find the new feature button, Rubric Template, on the class roster screen: Ø Log on eTIGER Ø Click “School Course Listing” under “Class/Course Rosters” Ø Select the class to open a class roster screen An extra button titled Rubric Template was added to class roster: Ø Click the button to open the Rubric Template report screen

Reporting Rubric Data Off-Line

A new feature has been added to eTIGER. Teachers can now report rubric data off-line! This allows users not only to enter the data off-line but also to enter and upload the data as an entire class or a few selective student records. The option of reporting rubric data by individual standard is still accessible in eTIGER. Rubric off-line data reporting requires the following four major steps:

1. Download the rubric template with current rubric data 2. Save the Rubric Template as a csv file 3. Enter/change rubric data 4. Upload the Rubric Template data file

To Download the Rubric Template with Saved Data

Find the new feature button, Rubric Template, on the class roster screen: Ø Log on eTIGER Ø Click “School Course Listing” under

“Class/Course Rosters” Ø Select the class to open a class

On the Rubric Template report screen: Ø Click Ctrl-A (select all), all selected

data were turned blue (hold the “Ctrl” key and the “A” key at the same time)

Ø Then Ctrl-C (copy) to copy the Rubric Template (hold the “Ctrl” key and the “C” key at the same time)

Ø In Excel or spreadsheet application, open a new spreadsheet file, click Ctrl-V (paste) (hold the “Ctrl” key and the “V” key at the same time) to paste the copied Rubric Template onto the spreadsheet

Note: 1. The rubric template (on the right)

shows a class with NO competency rubric data saved.

2. DO NOT change any Rubric Template headings from rows 1 to 4.

3. DO NOT change any “student key” and “ISPID” information on the Rubric Template.

4. You may remove any unnecessary student records (by deleting the complete row) from the template for upload.

To Save the Rubric Template as CSV File

On Rubric Template spreadsheet screen: Ø Click Office Button at left upper

corner Ø Select Save As and Click Other

Formats to open a Save As screen Ø Put down the file name as your

preference for further usage (suggest to use the local class number, like 560900-01.csv)

Ø Select Save As Type - “CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv)” file format from the drop down list

Ø Click Save to save the Rubric Template file to the designated location of your computer

Ø Click all YES to the following questions while saving the csv file: o The selected file type does not

support workbooks that contain multiple sheets.

o xxx file may contain features that are not compatible with CSV. Do you want to keep the workbook in this format?

o Do you want to save the changes you made to “xxx.csv” file?

Note: The saved Rubric Template file will allow you to enter student’s data, save them (keep the csv file format), and then upload to eTIGER.

To Enter/Change Rubric Data on the Rubric Template and Save as a CSV file:

At spreadsheet Rubric Template type in the student rubric data: Ø Follow the rubric data report rule,

report only 1, 2, 3, 4 or leave cell as blank

Ø Save the entered data as CSV file (refer the steps described above) for uploading to eTIGER

Note: 1. The upload file will OVERWRITE

what saved on eTIGER rubric data for all cells including blank from the uploaded Rubric Template file.

2. To save the process time, you may remove the student records which have no data or no changes made from the upload file. (May remove record 16 to 23 from the upload file on right.)

To Upload the Rubric Template Data File:

Find the Upload Class Rubric link: Ø Log on eTIGER Ø Click “Upload Class Rubric” under

“Utilities” Ø An Upload Rubric CSV File to State

screen opens Find the upload rubric data file from your computer: Ø Click Browse button to open a File

Upload screen to select the file to upload

Ø Click Upload this file button to upload the selective rubric data file

Ø A “Read in Rubric CSV” summary will post to confirm the completion of upload process

Note: 1. “Read in Rubric CSV” screen

indicates how many 4’s, 3’s, 2’s, 1’s have been saved to extract table for each student. This is the confirmation of upload process.

2. You may log on eTIGER to check the “pending“status of those uploaded rubric data at rubric data entering screen (all listed at “Read in Rubric CSC” data will be in pink at eTIGER).

3. The uploaded Rubric Template data will go through the same overnight process to save onto database. Check back at eTIGER when process complete.

To Check that the Upload Data Saved in eTIGER

After the overnight data process, find the Rubric Class By Students link: Ø Log on eTIGER Ø Click “Rubric Class By Students”

under “Reports” Ø Or click Rubric Template button at

class roster screen Send any Rubric Template Off-line Reporting question to Tina Mcneal at [email protected].
