2The TWS Operations Manual indicates H.E. Wallace served on Council from 63 – 63. Given his position in this table and

the dates of his predecessor it is more likely he served from 1962 - 1963. 3One editor indicated this individual worked for WV. WV was not part of Region II in 1956 but may have been prior to that

date. Have yet to find a detailed version of the original Region boundaries so it is possible WV was part of Region II

during the period W.A. Gresh served on Council.

and Hawaii {JWM 14(4):485} and {JWM 21(3):369}. In 1965 Region VI was disbanded and a new Region VI was formed

which included the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and the Provinces of Alberta and British

Columbia as well as the Yukon Territories {JWM 29(4):912}. At that time a new Region VIII was created which included

the states of California, Hawaii and Nevada and the U.S. Territory of Guam {JWM 29(4):912}. This “new” Region VI

became the Northwest Administrative Section in 1971 and simply the Northwest Section in 1978 {WSB 15(1):20}. In

2006, all Canadian Provinces and Territories were consolidated into the Canadian Section.

1Until 1946 Canadian provinces were included as parts of the groups of states contiguous with the international border. From 1946 – 1965 all of Canada was included in Region VII. In 1965, Region VII Canada was disbanded and Canadian provinces were again added to the Regions where they shared the international border. At this time a new Region VII was created consisting of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming adding an unfortunate bit of historical confusion {WSB 15(1):20}. 2The TWS Operations Manual indicates W.J.K. Harkness served on Council in 1950. JWM 26(3):306 indicates this name was spelled Harkness.
