1As of 1950, Region II included the states of Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia,
Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands {JWM 14(4):485. As of 1956, Region
II included the states of: Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands {JWM 21(3):369}. Region II
became the Southeastern Administrative Section in 1971 and simply the Southeastern Section in 1978 {WSB 15(1):20}.
2The TWS Operations Manual indicates H.E. Wallace served on Council from 63 – 63. Given his position in this table and
the dates of his predecessor it is more likely he served from 1962 - 1963. 3One editor indicated this individual worked for WV. WV was not part of Region II in 1956 but may have been prior to that
date. Have yet to find a detailed version of the original Region boundaries so it is possible WV was part of Region II
during the period W.A. Gresh served on Council.

1A new Region VIII was created in 1965 which included the states of California, Hawaii and Nevada and the U.S. Territory of Guam {JWM 29(4):912}. From 1956 through 1965 these states/territory were part of Region VI. This “new” Region VIII became the Western Administrative Section in 1971 and simply the Western Section in 1978 {WSB 15(1):20}.

1Until 1946 Canadian provinces were included as parts of the groups of states contiguous with the international border. From 1946 – 1965 all of Canada was included in Region VII. In 1965, Region VII Canada was disbanded and Canadian provinces were again added to the Regions where they shared the international border. At this time a new Region VII was created consisting of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming adding an unfortunate bit of historical confusion {WSB 15(1):20}. 2The TWS Operations Manual indicates W.J.K. Harkness served on Council in 1950. JWM 26(3):306 indicates this name was spelled Harkness.
