All animals, including humans, start out as babies and get older.

When babies are born they are very small.

Some animals need their parents to protect them and to help them learn about the world.

As animals get older they can start to do more things by themselves.

They will become bigger and stronger and more able to look after themselves.

Once an animal is fully grown it will find a mate.

Together they will have their own babies and the cycle will start again.

They will continue to grow old and the cycle will end when they die.
