Blazer Industries, Inc. and Commercial Mobile Structures designed over 25,000 sq. ft. oftemporary classroom space for this growing private school. The individual factory-builtbuildings are situated around a courtyard and are tailored to meet the needs of severaldifferent age groups. The exterior finish of the modular units compliment otherpermanent site-built buildings.

Britco Structures worked closely with Cilliwack school's architect to provide a modularaddition that matched the interior and exterior appearance of the existing school. Themodular buildings were positioned to create four classrooms opposite each other acrossa 15 ft. corridor. The classrooms total 8,382 sq. ft. and took only 66 days to complete.

Officials at this elementary school wanted a school building that emphasized the arts andpreserved the city's frontier heritage. Modular Technology designed 17 factory-builtclassrooms totaling 15,000 sq. ft. that complemented the natural surroundings. Theclassrooms were completed in 93 days and have 12 foot ceilings and communications,fire, and security systems.

This elementary school campus was also designed and built by Modular Technology. Ittook only 150 days to complete the 14 modules of more than 6,000 sq. ft. To achieve analpine look and accommodate for heavy winter snows, lap-siding with a high-pitchedroof was used along with an indoor corridor system connecting individual classrooms,restrooms, and kitchens.

The building is 2,500 sq. ft. and is made from five modular units. Its stuccoexterior and seam-metal roofing are virtually maintenance-free and match the othersite-built building perfectly.

Students and teachers needed to be relocated to temporary classrooms whilerenovations were going on at their permanent school building. Modular DesignTechnology and Forest River/Premiere Structures Division put together 36 modular unitsof 30,000 sq. ft. in 126 days. There are 26 classrooms, five restrooms, a main office, acomputer room, and a parents' room.

This building by NRB, Inc. is constructed using structural steel framing with reinforcedpre-poured concrete floors. Its brick exterior matches that of the existing schoolbuilding, as do the new windows and interior and exterior colors. Each classroom hastwo large windows offering outside air is so desired. The 28,000 sq. ft. addition took 6weeks to complete.

This classroom, built by NRB, Inc., is a prototype designed to help school systems intheir fight against mold and poor indoor air quality. In its construction, NRB used as littleorganic or cellulose material as possible, including paperless sheetrock, vinyl floor tile,and steel framing. Two modular units make up the 736 sq. ft. classroom, which was builtin 40 days.

Rotondo Precast Modular supplied this modular school. Composed of 30 precast concretemodules stacked side by side, a second story can be added in future years by simplystacking other modules on top. The floor, roof, and walls are cast with rigid polystyreneinsulation and with electrical conduits set inside the concrete. The 8,000 sq. ft. buildingwas completed in just 105 days.

Being in such an affluent neighborhood, church officials didn't want their new classroomto look like just an "old trailer." So, Wilmot Modular Structures and WhitleyManufacturing rose to the occasion. The church's new building had wood siding andmatched the color of the adjacent rectory. The 1,440 sq. ft. classrooms were ready foroccupancy in only 67 days.

This stand-alone building by Williams Scotsman and Mark line Industries featuresclassrooms, restrooms, a library, and offices all under one roof. It took 122 days tocomplete the 7,200 sq. ft. building, which school officials plan to move in two to threeyears when going to a new location. The building has a low-maintenance exterior andvinyl gypsum interior walls.

One of the benefits of factory-built construction is the ability to reconfigure modularbuildings. This child care facility, built by Williams Scotsman and ScotsmanManufacturing, involved the conversion of the first floor of another modular building(once used as an engineering office) to the second floor of this one. The project took fivemonths and totals 4,320 sq. ft.
