and drawings.

The Contractor shall coordinate all divisions of the work including the work of all subcontractors and suppliers. Beresponsible for scheduling and expediting their work and deliveries, including correction of all defective work.The Contractor shall be responsible for compliance by all persons or parties engaged on the work with all laws,building codes and ordinances insofar as they apply to work carried out under this quotation.

The Contractor shall obtain all permits, licenses and certificates, and pay all fees required for the performance ofthe Work which are in force at the date of quotation submission. These cost to be included in contractors LumpSum Price without taxes.

Scope of Work:

Cole Harbour Public Library - Renovation Specifications

Note: This will be a shared work environment which could include installation of flooring, new shelving, datacabling, electrical, construction and paint. Movers may be on site during flooring installation and painting.

Demolition/Construction Plan (see attached)

1. Data drops (cabling and termination) will be done by another contractor.

2. Contractor responsible for adding new ventilation or relocating vents as required.

3. Contractor responsible to relocate sprinklers if required to meet code.

4. Contractor responsible to obtain any required permits.

5. Contractor responsible to relocate phone jacks (placement to be determined by on-site staff).

6. All construction and demolition to be completed in within a two week time line, to allow for installation of flooring.

Electrical & Lighting

(Draft electrical requirements (to be finalized and distributed at site visit) and over all light plan attached.

1. Relocate 7 existing 2 x 4 ceiling lights fixtures, reuse ceiling tiles wherever possible.

2. Supply and install 7 new 2 x 2 fixtures with lamps to match existing fixtures.

3. Remove existing (9) power poles (some of the electrical to be hardwired to new furniture).

4. Remove and dispose of suspended tube light fixture over Circulation desk.

5. There are approximately 40 existing duplex outlets and 21 new that require power and they are to be fed in amanner that allows for a maximum of 6 outlets per 15 amp circuit (some outlets may need to be dedicated i.e.printer stand).

1. All public area walls and bulkheads (except accent walls): Cement Gray 2112-60 (lmid grey) pearl finish, trim(doors and windows) in public area: Cement Gray 2112-60 (lmid grey) semi-gloss finish.

2. All non-public spaces: American White 2112-70 (light grey) pearl finish, trim (window and door) non-public area:American White 2112-70 (light grey) semi-gloss finish.

3. Accent walls in public area as marked (color to be determined) pearl finish.

Quality of Paint: Benjamin Moore, Ben Interiors, Dulux International, Dulux Diamond, Pittsburgh PPG, Manor Hall82-410, Sherwin Williams, Emerald or any product of equal quality.

Drywall patching:

1. Columns with mounted desk to be removed and wall repaired before painting.

2. Signage mounted to wall to be removed and wall repaired before painting.

3. Wall mounted shelving will be removed by another contractor, wall repair will be required.

4. Holes in drywall caused by relocating faceplates and outlet covers are to be repaired before painting.

Clean-up

The Contractor shall, at all times, keep the premises free from accumulations of waste materials and rubbishcaused by the employees of work, and at the completion of the work he shall remove all rubbish and surplusmaterials from and about the building, and legally dispose of it.

Contractor to warrantee all workmanship for a minimum of 1 year.

Contractor agrees to repair or replace faulty materials or workmanship, which become evident during the warrantyperiod without cost to the Owner.

Health and Safety Act

Every contractor shall take every precaution that is reasonable in the circumstances to ensure that every employee,self-employed person and employer performing work in respect of the project complies with the latest revision ofthe Nova Scotia Health & Safety Act and Regulations, HRM Health & Safety Regulations and all other safetymeasures as required by authorities having jurisdiction.

Safety Plan

Within three (3) days notification of award the contractor shall provide Irene Clement with a safety plan per IreneClement e-mail address [email protected] This plan shall include but not be limited to identification of safetyhazards anticipated during the project, solutions to those hazards, safety procedures, identification of designatedsafety officers and provisions for safe access to the site work for HRM staff and consultants. Receipt andacceptance of the safety plan shall be mandatory prior to commencement of work.

Deduction for Uncorrected Work

HRM Project Manager/Consultant may deem it to be in the best interests of the HRM to make an appropriatededuction in the Contractor's payment where work has been damaged and/or does not comply with the Contract.

Notice of Completion

When work is complete, request in writing that a final inspection be made by HRM Project Manager/Consultant.Upon the Owners and/or HRM's concurrence that the work is complete, attend the final inspection and participate inthe preparation of a deficiency list.

Deficiency Corrections

Correct all deficient items and advise HRM Project Manager/Consultant in writing when complete.

Remove 7 existing column mounted "find-it" stations. Patch and make good any damage to column.3 maybe re-used.

Existing standards and shelves to remain

The best practices specified or recommended in the Architectural Painting Specifications Manual, published by the Canadian Paint and Coatings Association shall govern for painting materials, methods and procedures, unless specified otherwise by paint manufacturer.

Remove any existing wall signage. All walls to be made smooth, all imperfections to be made good.

PAINT ALL PUBLIC SPACE WALLS AND BULKHEADS: Benjamin Moore, Cement Grey 2112-60 (mid grey) pearl finish. Painted doors & frames: semi gloss. Note, new doors and side windows are aluminum finish, except for new window that replaces doors in the entry to be painted.
