Requesting an Official Transcript

Please use this handout to guide you through the transcript ordering process. If you have any questions regarding your transcript orders, please contact Admissions and Records (650) 738 – 4251 or by email at skyadmissions@smccd.edu

1. Log into your WebSMART Account.

2. Click on “Student Records” listed under the heading Student Services.

3. Click on “Request Official Transcript”

4. Click on “Begin Order”

5. Fill out information then click “Next”

6. Tell us when to Release your Transcript. Choose when to release your transcript(s), either choose:

a. “Send Now” -- this option doesn’t include the current terms grades b. “Hold for final grades for the current term” -- this option will send your transcript as soon as the

current term’s grades has been posted c. “Hold for Degrees to be awarded for the current term” -- this option will send your transcript

with any degree you have earned and will be posted on your transcript *Note: Your first 2 transcripts will be free. There is a charge for ordering your Official Transcript after your first 2 free transcripts.*

7. Choose and confirm a recipient.

Please be sure to check the address to which you will be sending your transcript to. If the search does not pull the correct address you can select “Enter Recipient Manually,” to enter the correct address

8. IGETC and CSU Certification

What are the IGETC and CSU certification? A GE certifications will confirm that you have completed the transfer requirements to transfer a specific school. • The CSU GE Certification is for students planning to transfer to a California State University. • The IGETC Certification is for students planning to transfer to a University of California School.

Partial Certification

Partial CSU GE You do not need to be finished with all areas of the CSU GEs to get the CSU GE Certification. Request a CSU GE Certification and we will indicate which sections you have completed.

Partial IGETC GE We do not give partial IGETC certification to students who are currently enrolled in the classes necessary to complete their IGETC.

How do your get Certification?

You can request an IGETC and/or CSU GE Certification when your order your official transcripts.

If you are requesting an IGETC or CSU GE Certification for the first time, it can take an additional 7 - 10 business days to process your order. Once you have the IGETC or CSU GE certification, it is permanently on your transcript, and you will not need to request it again.

9. Review your order. Then click on “Go to Payment”

10. Finalize payment if fees apply.

*Note: If this is your first time ordering an Official Transcript you may not be charged*
