1.TheNRJEResearchAwardrecognizesanoutstandingarticleorchapterinaneditedvolumebyanuntenuredscholar.Theauthorcanbeajuniorfacultymemberoranadministrator,practitioner,policyanalyst,orresearcher,whohasreceivedhis/herdoctoratewithinthepastsixyears.Co-authoredworksareacceptableaslongastheuntenuredresearcheristheprimaryauthor.2.Allnominationsmustbemadethroughaformalapplicationprocess.Theprocessincludesthecompletionofanapplicationbytheauthor,acurriculumvitae,andreceiptoftworeferencesattestingtotheexcellenceofthescholarshipbyexpertsinthefield.AlltheformscanbefoundontheNRJEwebsite.3.TheauthormustbeacurrentmemberoftheNRJE.4.TheresearchcanbelinkedtoadissertationoranyotherareaofresearchaslongasitcontributestotheunderstandingofasignificanteducationalissueorquestionapplicabletoJewisheducation.5.TheAwardsCommitteewillrevieweachapplicationusingthefollowingcriteria:

a.Clarityofexpositionb.Familiaritywithrelevantliteraturesc.Methodologicalrigord.Potentialtoadvanceknowledgeinthefield.

TheCommitteecanconsultoutsideexpertsifnecessary.6.ThewinneroftheNRJEResearchPrizeisstronglyencouragedtoparticipateintheconferenceofthatyear,duringwhichtheawardwillbepresented.RegistrationfeesfortheconferencewillbewaivedaspartoftheNRJEResearchPrize.ThewinnerisalsoexpectedtoparticipateinfutureactivitiesoftheNetwork.7.TheawardeeisalsoencouragedtoapplyforNRJEtravelawardstoallowhimorhertoparticipateintheannualconference.

PURPOSEOFTHEAWARD

The NRJE Research Award was established to recognize the author of an outstanding publication, anarticleorchapterinaneditedvolume.Theauthormustbeanuntenuredscholar,ajuniorfacultymemberoranadministrator,practitioner,policyanalystorresearcherwhohasreceivedhis/herdoctoratewithinthepastsixyears.Co-authoredarticlesareacceptableaslongastheprincipalresearcheristheuntenuredscholar.Theapplicantmustbeacurrentmemberof theNRJE.The intent is toshowcase theworkofanewer member of the Jewish educational research community and to introduce that community to apublicationthatoffersasignificantcontributiontotheunderstandingofasignificanteducationalissueorquestionapplicabletoJewisheducation.TheawardeeisexpectedtoattendandspeakattheNRJEannualconference.AMOUNTOFGRANT

Theamountoftheawardis$250.Inaddition,registrationfeesfortheannualconferencewillbewaivedfortheawardee.REVIEWPROCESS

The NRJE Awards committee will review all the applications, assessing the clarity of the exposition,familiarity with relevant literatures, methodological rigor, and potential to advance knowledge in thefield.Theirworkwillbeguidedbythequalityoftheapplicationandreferencesofexpertsinthefield.HOWANDWHENTOAPPLY
