Industry showcase Creating in Three Dimensions: Demonstration of new Rapid Prototyper

Not that long ago, an inventor had to build his initial prototype by hand with wood, metal, bailing wire, and tape. Now, students, faculty and industry partners can use leading-edge rapid prototyping technology to build a 3D model of their idea.

Please join us, along with our rapid prototyping partner Cimetrix Solutions, for a demonstration of our new Fortus 360 3D printer. Funding for this equipment was generously provided by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

Integrated Manufacturing Centre (Gordon Willey building)

Kirsten Janeteas, account manager, Academics, Cimetrix Solutions Inc.

Brandon Lewis, senior technician, Cimetrix Solutions Inc.

THIS YEAR’S CONCURRENT SESSIONS WILL BE OFFERED IN THREE STREAMS: RESEARCHER SHOWCASE, STUDENT EXPERIENCE, AND INDUSTRY SHOWCASE.

The three streams will be held in the following rooms:

• Researcher showcase – SSB 117

• Student experience – SSB 118

Industry experience Fresh Vegetables in Winter!

Due to our relatively short growing season in Canada it is not possible to enjoy locally produced fresh vegetables year round. Local growers and restaurants need new cost-effective methods to extend the growing season and availability of these local crops.

Come and hear what two Durham College faculty members are doing to extend the growing season using cold-frame technology.
