2D set of movement, non diagonal, NEWS

Non complex button commands

Sting attacks, simple magic, locked doors

Currency - Emeralds

3D movement in any direction

Simple commands

Different abilities/objects, unlockable treasures

Currency – LEGO blocks, mithril blocks

Open world

Fairly big for these

times

Interesting locations

Partially open world

(but empty)

Includes every

area/landmark from

original film

Easy transportation

between locationshttp://guides.gamepressure.com/hobbit/guide.asp?ID=25208

Music is monotonous

Not many sound effects, robotic

Little variety in enemies

Too simple storyline

Storyline doesn’t involve everything from book

(eg. Barrow-Wights, treenants’ gathering)

Background and settings

Glitches

Not much variety in regular enemies and bosses

Good game ≠ complicated design

Popular game titles ≤ my favourite titles

Blood not necessary in games with fighting

involved = wider audience

Wide world + nothing special = boredom

A lot of characters + too similar to each other =

what’s the point of that?

Make a simple looking game but with a good

remarkable story

Large background is a large responsibility to fill it

with interesting landmarks

It’s not only about graphics, it’s also about music

and creativity

Enjoyability: LoZ – 4/10

LEGO LotR – 6/10

Want to play it again? LoZ – possibly

LEGO LotR – not really

Best part(s): LoZ – melancholy,

graphics

LEGO LotR –characters’ design, Samways

My final thoughts comparison
