Controversies

There has been much controversy in regards to Tarentino’s use of graphic violence and racial epithets. Spike Lee famously critised Tarentino’s used of the derogatory term “nigger” in his productions. He claimed that Tarentino was trying to become an “honorary black man”. Tarentino replied with saying that he is “telling the truth.” and that “it would not be questioned if [he] was black, and resents the question because [he] is white.”

Frequent collaborators

Like various directors, Tarantino has constructed up an informal "repertory company" of actors who have appeared in numerous roles in films that he has directed. Most notable of these is Samuel L. Jackson, who appeared in five films directed by Tarantino, and a sixth that was written by him, True Romance. Other recurrent collaborators include Uma Thurman, who Tarantino has described as his "muse", Christoph Waltz and Zoë Bell.
